Peyton Manning and his accuracy issues, should Broncos be concerned?

Peyton isn't that much better? The man is a first ballot hall of famer. Cam has a long way to go. Cam can become a damn good QB, but Peyton is on another level.

No one were running 4-5 receivers in 1998 unlike now.

I think he meant Peyton was not that much better at the same stage of their careers. Statistically that is probably accurate. But I think you are saying that the game was so different that you can't cross compare numbers. I'm not sure I 100% agree with that, but you may have a point there.

That's exactly what I meant and I would assume that most people would agree.

Throwing for 3k yards was a huge accomplishment in the past and was unimaginable to think that this much QBs would pass for 4k yards. In today's NFL you see QBs throwing for 5k every season. The league have changed so much. To discredit what Peyton did in the past over Cam's first two seasons is pretty ridiculous. It's a passing league now, not the pound and ground anymore. People forgets that Manning still put up big numbers in those days (running league) with running backs like Faulk and James carrying huge load. The last two years, we had to relied on Cam's arm to win us game, not the running game.

What I liked about what Denver did was they took what New England started with last year (the hurry-up offense) and put it into overdrive.

Trust me, Cam would do GREAT in a hurry-up offense.  And being a physical, running team *and* a hurry-up offense are not mutually exclusive.  Trust me, as an Auburn guy I've seen it before.

The NFL is moving more and more to the hurry-up to counter-act the dominant defenses in the league.

Brooklyn Bully and Lumps. Usual suspects in here.

Peyton is a 15 year veteran. Color me shocked that a third year quarterback has yet to master the game like him.

Yet the OP sees him differently than others do. Cam isn't accurate all the time. Big deal. He's our superstar and we love him. That's all that matters. Stop getting your panties in a bunch because some criticizes someone you don't know, never will know, and have no connection to. I will never get why so many in here take this team so personally. It's like the crazies in Europe and their soccer obsession.

How do I see him differently?   Cam isn't accurate all the time.  I didn't say he was.  All QBs are not accurate all the time.  That was the point.  No one has made a convincing counterpoint backed by any data yet in this thread about his accuracy.   Just a bunch snide remarks in my direction or to say "because of that one time in that one game when he made that bad throw".

Peyton Manning has the resume to get away with that stuff and I don't have a problem with stuff like that.

BUT

Could you imagine the absolute shyt storm that would unravel between some of our fans and ALL the media if Cam had a moment like that with Kalil or Smitty or really anyone?

It would be unbelievable to say the least!

The day Cam gets on Peyton's level is the day when his factual inaccuracy will no longer be brought up on this board. "Imagine what he could have done if he was accurate last night" ... imagine what Cam could do if he was more accurate.

exactly.peyton is a proven winner.he can over throw all he wants.cam has yet to even lead the team to a winning season.
