Peyton Manning and his accuracy issues, should Broncos be concerned?

Philip Rivers was 19th in the NFL in percentage of passes over 15 yards.  Cam was 6th.

It is not even close to the difficulty of passes Cam was attempting to make.

I wasn't trying to compare the two. The person I quoted said you can't have a 64 completion % in this type of offense. Just pointing out Philip Rivers did it in a similar offense so it is possible.

Thank you.  That means a lot coming from you.

Do you have anything to add about Cam's accuracy or are you just going to spout off the same bullpoo than has been disproven?

I love Cam as our QB.  He is a big play QB that adds a huge dimension with his legs.  He is a sub 60% passer and probably always will be.  He will likely never be an accurate surgeon style QB like Brady or Manning.

Comparing him to Manning is ridiculous....and using last night performance for your arguement (64% comp, 7 TDS, 450 yds, in the rain and win) is beyond laughable.

I just listed the top 14 QBs in the NFL in % of passes over 15 yards.  Out of the QBs that threw a high percentage of their passes over 15 yards only 2, that is right 2 out of the 14 NFL QBs completed more than 60% of their passes.

Those that didn't included Flacco, Eli Manning, Cutler, Luck, and Stafford.

Should Cam Newton be held to a higher standard than 2 Super Bowl champs, two Pro Bowlers, and the next great QB?

Wow!  That is pretty high bar to set to prove one's accuracy.  Better than 86% of the rest of NFL QBs that threw similar passes.

PS- I am not comparing him to Peyton Manning.  That wasn't really the point.  I was using Peyton Manning as a vehicle to make the point that hanging your hat on a handful of throws in a game to prove inaccuracy in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary is stupid.

Peyton manning also isn't the Peyton manning of 1998 and 1999. People tend to forget he actually threw more picks than TDs and had to learn how to play well. He wasn't always this good folks.

Although I love that meme and it always makes me laugh, defending my team's QB against nonsensical bullshit is not the time to stop posting.

Last night I was a bit drunk and feisty, and now I am just hungover and pissy.

You started this nonsensical bullshit.

I recommend 5 advils and lots of bacon.

It is only nonsensical if you don't believe in reality.

The only legit counterargument I have gotten is "stupid thread" and "obviously he is inaccurate" despite the original anecdotal evidence I gave in the original OP and then all the statistical evidence to back myself up.

I gave you pie because bacon and Advil found pretty fugging good right about now

Philip Rivers had a 64 completion % in the Turner offense

With Phillip being just decent on deep throws and having a sub par Oline they were running shorter passes to the RB's, intermediate TE routes and so forth to increase his probability of success. He still throws deep, just not as often as normal in a turner offense.
