Went to the game tonight. One of the best games I've been to. Rodriguez looked fantastic, Papi was in 2004 form, and the middle of the lineup battered the Tigers pitching. Some concern for Brock Holt, looked like he tweaked his knee in the first inning and left in the 6th due to it.

Definitely a big mistake, they were one of the best teams in the league

i like that we got Kimbrel, felt like giving up 4 prospects for 1 was a little much. would have liked to get tyson ross from the padres in addition to kimbrel.

Unloading Hanley and/or Sandoval would be great.  I hated what they did last season and it worked out pretty close to how I expected.  I wanted to just go young and see who could swim.  Then spend money to fill the rest of the spots this year when the FA pool is much nicer.

I love Freeman but if he is too expensive I would be fine with Shaw at 1B.  Swihart, Shaw, Xander, Betts, Bradley, and Castillo would give us a very talented young core.  We also have Moncada waiting in the wings to replace Pedey eventually.

definitely. i was excited about sandoval and ramirez last year because i figured it would put some pop back into the lineup, but their struggles on defense essentially negated any positives on offense. really hope we move away from splurging on big name FA's that are entering their early 30's or late 20's like Cueto.
