Hawks injury report

Even if they were 100% they would have no respect for our team and endless excuses. The refs, the long plane ride, the start time, looking past us to SF.. idc at all. A week later it's either a W or a L, and who the hell ever runs into a Seahawks fan anyway? Sooner see a unicorn on Mint St.

Am I the only one that wants to beat the Seachickens at their best? Lord knows I do not want to hear the, Well if X player was not out you would not won, topics...

Win or lose, it might be best to stay off the internet for a few days after this one.  Bipolar runs rampant after game one.

Don't think the start time will be an issue. Carroll on Sirius this PM said they'll be coming in a day early and have been starting all their practices ar 10AM. Also Clemmons practiced for the first time today. He is worried about the running game, since the panthers were one of three teams to hold them under 100 yards last year and have added the two rooks to the DL rotation. Were fortunate to win last year, holding us on downs at the goalline late in the fourth.

With our history of starting like poo...I don't care if they have to trot out a high school squad. I want the W.

Not like we're going to get many Seattle trolls here, and if you're listening to ESPN they're already/will be shitting on us so what's the difference?

Yeh, me too. I really wanted to play them at their strongest. Cuz if just one person is missing, there is an excuse. Oh well, guess we will have to wait til January.

I get this thought process, I do. Frankly, im not going to lie. I like it better when we play a battered tram missing a lot of pieces, screw the "no excuses" thing, I want a win period.

Plenty of teams have played the panthers not at their best in the past two years. Injuries happen, at the end of the day you have to play with the squad that are able to get on the field. There are no excuses..

Ask ole cheating Bill of the patriots if he hopes his opponents are all healthy. If they are all on crutches I don't give a flying crap. They have backups, we have backups, it's the team you beat not individual players.

Practices are in shorts not pads and it definitely doesn't not equal game intensity

Pete Carroll on the Panthers from Seahawk.com

Head coach Pete Carroll addressed the media this afternoon ahead of the team's 1:30 p.m. "Competition Wednesday" practice and preparation for Sunday's regular season opener on the road against the Carolina Panthers.

"We finally made it," Carroll opened. "Game week."

Carroll said the excitement and anticipation surrounding Sunday's game against the Panthers is obvious, from the players to the coaching staff. Carroll noted the club looks forward to "unleash things we've been keeping under wraps."

On the Panthers, Carroll touched on do-it-all quarterback Cam Newton, calling out lane management and tackle discipline as the keys to stopping the team's offensive attack.

"He gives you as many problems as the quarterback position can possibly give you," Carroll said, referring to Newton's ability to pass, scramble, and run as a power runner in critical situations. "He taxes you as much as a QB can do it."

"What do we have to do?" Carroll continued. "Everything. We have to do everything right."

Below are several injury nuggets and game notes from Carroll's Wednesday presser:

    • Defensive ends Chris Clemons (knee) and Cliff Avril (hamstring) will return to the practice field today. Clemons will not play Sunday against the Panthers, but Avril could see action. If Avril is not available, offseason addition O'Brien Schofield will get the start.

    • Defensive tackles Brandon Mebane (groin) and Tony McDaniel (groin) will return to practice today. Barring any setback during the week, Carroll expressed hope the pair would be ready on Sunday.

    • Wide receiver Sidney Rice (knee) will play in Sunday's game against the Panthers, Carroll said. The team has been managing Rice's practice time since returning from a preseason knee procedure in Switzerland.

    • Wide receiver Stephen Williams will practice today, returning from the concussion he suffered in last Thursday's preseason finale. Williams will need to undergo a series of evaluations before he is cleared to play this Sunday.

    • Offensive guard James Carpenter (knee) will play Sunday against the Panthers, but will not start, Carroll confirmed.

    • Wide receiver Jermaine Kearse is "the guy" at kick returner, Carroll said. Fellow wideout Golden Tate will receive first duties as the team's punt returner, but Carroll added that cornerbrack Walter Thurmondcould spell Tate depending on the game situation.

I'm betting there will be more than a few at BOA on Sunday.  I really hope not tho.
