Don't worry... it was just a Coast Guard Training dummy...

The human-like figure that can be seen in the back of a pickup truck on Google Street View's photos of Front Street is named Oscar.

Oscar isn't a human, though, he's a U.S. Coast Guard search-and-rescue dummy.

Capt. Nyx Cangemi, a Coast Guard spokesman, said members of the Coast Guard's local sector saw an article in the StarNews on Wednesday and identified the pickup truck in the photograph as one of their vehicles.

Know why they name the dummies "Oscar?"

Navy and Coast Guard ships carry a couple Oscars for man overboard drills. They're made with buoyant materials so they float. When a man overboard occurs, drill or real, the "O" (Oscar) flag is immediately hoisted and the ship's whistle is blown 5 times.
