Containing Russell Wilson

Our front 4 will make it so easy for our LBs to get to him...Wilson will have a slump season...same as LUCK...RG III as gifted all around as he is...don't think he will last long in the NFL...Capdick samething....I believe our Secondary will be a shocking surprise this year...KEEP POUNDING!!!!

So, let me get this straight: A QB who had better stats than, and 4x as many starts as, Cam in college, who was better in his rookie season than Cam in either Cam's first or second seasons, that QB ain't nothing to worry about?

I suggest you go look at some of the analyses of Wilson at Football Outsiders. His efficiency with the ball is astounding. That means he is both highly skilled delivering it and extremely intelligent in his decisions.

But apparently the QB who has outperformed Cam in college and the pros isn't worthy of being in Cam's presence.

Please explain this.... are you talking win/loss record?  Last time I checked Cam has done better his first 2 years than any other QB in a couple of categories.

Whooooaaaa whoa whoa there now you got to be trolling lol. As I recall Cam won a little trophy called the Heisman and won the National Title in one season at Auburn.

I thought that is the goal for most College Athletes, in fact that's the entire reason your QB went to Wisconsin, so he could try to do just that.

LoL and he also said had a better rookie season. Even though he broke records, not just rookie records, pro records. THEN there's the fact that he shattered Manning's rookie mark without a preseason to prepare with.

These guys talk about Wilson being diligent like no one else does that. All the good ones prepare and help their teammates prepare, haha, its essential. These guys are proud of that like "LOOK he can tie his shoes good man!" LoLs nice and Im sure he goes pee pee standing up like a big boy, but he's not 1/10th the threat of Cam.

TheRed isnt bullshittin man,  these guys are giant homers, its hilariously pitiful. Tate and Smith in the same sentence hahahahahahahahahahaha - Mr T 89 pities the fool

I think they already said some these guys are from Idaho er. . . Vermont or something. That pic Zod posted from Legion of Noob's twitter or whatever his name is definitely the highlight of the day.

Kansas and Louisiana representing Seahawks nation, lol.

Pick a measure, and a year. If you want to compare rookie year to rookie year, Wilson wins. Rookie year to sophomore year, Wilson wins.

The only measure Cam led in is running yards and total TD so far as I have seen thus far in looking at the stats for the two. Leading in running yards, like with RGIII, isn't necesarily a good thing always. Cam might lead in passing yards, but passing yards is a product of system mor than anythign else. If Wilson played for GB, Denver, NE, e.g., he'd have had 4k yards, too, right?

Also, both Cam and RGIII had their offenses skewed to fit them. Wilson did not. He didn't need it to be. The Read Option was added because Wilson *could* do it, not because they needed to to make him successful.

Check the stats that matter:

Comp. %: Wilson

Passing TDs: Wilson

Total TDs: Newton, but he's a running QB in a system designed to have him run. Is he a better runner than wilson? Probably. I've not seen the breakdowns on when, why, types of yards, etc. But, like RGIII, does Newton's running actually put the long-term interest of the team in jeopardy? In terms of decision-making, Wilson is a MUCH more mature runner than RGIII. I don't have enough background on Newton to know if he runs well and runs smart.

INTs:  Wilson

TD/INT ratio: Wilson

QB rating, all of them NFL, ESPN, DVOA: Wilson

Even more so, look at the efficiency. That reflects decision-making.

Wilson set the rookie records for:

TDs: 26

TD/INT differential: +16

Playoff yards

Playoff TDs

Two rookies in the entire history of the NFL have had a 100+ passer rating: Wilson and RG III at 100 and 102, respectively. Newton's best so far is 86, iirc.

One rookie in history has had a DYAR (Football Outsiders) over 1,000: Wilson

http://www.footballoutsiders.com/quick-reads/2013/quick-reads-2012-review

Playoff appearances: Wilson

Playoff wins: Wilson

Blah, blah, blah. If you think Newton is the better QB, as opposed to athlete, you have a very different definition of QB than I do.

They're both good QBs, but Wilson is now, and because of his mental and maturity attributes, will remain the better QB. How close Cam can get is up to him to emulate Wilson, and others, that will themselves to succeed.

This storey makes my point: Cam is three years in and just now getting to where Wilson has always been with focus, maturity, self-control, discipline.

Some are expecting good things out of your team. I hope so for you fans, but that doesn't mean these two QBs are equal. Wilson is a step or half-step ahead until Cam shows he can be a mature, focused, disciplined player, QB and leader for a full season.

Maybe he catches up this year.

Title = team. We are talking QBs.

Heisman = athlete. We are talking QBs.

Wilson is the better QB while Cam is the better athlete.

If you want to pretend all QBs are equal in this, go ahead, but it makes you look like the homer, not me. Some are legendary for thier prep, attention to detail, film study, some are not. Manning is one of them and look what he has become over the years. Wilson already is legendary for this, and it will likely reflect in an elite career as a QB.

I've read nothing so far that indicates Newton works as hard as Wilson. Perhaps he does, but where is the evidence of it? I've seen comments/write-ups about Kaepernick and Luck working at an exceptional level, but not Cam. If the evidence is out there, great, we can stop looking at this as a differential between them. But I've not seen it yet.

And, again, if you think this doesn't matter, I really do not know what to tell you except that you are very, very wrong.

How's this for an example: Senior Bowl. When Wilson was not in the game, what was he doing? Mirroring the plays on the field on the sideline.

The kids never stops preparing.

Wilson is already legendary and elite after one season where he threw the least amount of passes of all starting quarterbacks? Where is your evidence to back up this laughable allegation that Cam isn't a hard worker?

Please don't link another Pete Prisco article, lol.
