Yeah JR is a cheap skate and doesnt care a lick about winning. He doesnt care about about this community either, he obviously wants to burn it to the ground.

So glad 2010 told us everything we need to know right?

God he's an awful owner, its not like we'll ever get the Superbowl.

Hiring Hurney was indeed Richardson's mistake. No one else can rightly be blamed for that.

That said, using Richardson to excuse all of Hurney's mistakes isn't a valid argument.

My sources are telling me he is coming back to the team as an assistant Team President.

He will work over Gettleman and under Morrison, with input on both roles.

JR magic.

I don't care if I get the bant stick ... you're an asshole

Still feel somewhat sorry for the guy. He would have never been a great GM, but with a better owner he could have been serviceable to good.

The draft trades were all Marty, but the 2010 season and the stupid loyalty contracts (Delhomme, Williams, Stewart, Beason) were Jerry East.

And it was an argument that was never made once. Ever. By anyone.

Not once.

The second anyone makes a valid critique about Richardson you can count on someone coming on and have a dramatic teenaged "I GUESS HE'S JUST THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD" meltdown.

Him getting a front office role would make sense though. Gotta reward loyalty.

Dont cover youre whining and project that back at me. You know what you said.

Im telling you this: Was 2010 bad? yes it was a very shitty thing for an owner to do. It hurt us as a team however, overall, he has CLEARLY made good business decisions to lead us to where we are now. He's stuck with his guys even when he knew they were fugging up and then he fugged up himself.

Youre using that to define the man and thats just wrong.

edit: and btw the Superbowl thing that kind of happened under Hurney. . yeah that too

You wanna say you're not doing that? Fine.

But do you really wanna say nobody on this board has ever blamed Richardson for Hurney's mistakes?

We've got a tinfoil hat club on here that does it on a regular basis.

You said "all of his mistakes"

Which has never been done before. Plenty, including myself have presented their arguments as to why Richardson is not blameless in our shortcomings. But again nobody has ever excused all  of Marty's mistakes and pinned them soley on Richardson.

Sounds like you have issues separating Jerry Richardson the man and Jerry Richardson the NFL owner.

To hear some on the board, Hurney was just a figurehead who never did anything except what Richardson told him to.

Heck, there have been people who suggested Gettleman had no power either. Though that crowd has been pretty well shut up over the last few months.

So again, you want to say you didn't do it, fine. You want to say it's never been done on here, that's another story.

I could see a Dougherty/Williams situation unfold. Well, hopefully.

Hurney brings in Newton, Kuechly, D-Will, J-Stew, Kalil, Olsen, Johnson, Hardy, Beason, Davis, Godfrey, etc. Yet he fails to mesh it all together and aee it reach it's full potential.

Gettleman comes in, adds a few key pieces in Star and Ginn Jr, and leads the team to the promised land.

Hurney put the team together but Gettleman is the hero.
