When do the Panthers announce team captains?

With Gross and Smitty, the only way I see Cam getting the C is if one of the two of them step up and say that they are giving theirs to Cam

I'm all for Cam getting the C and I think it would actually help with his game day mentality and attitude as I really think he'd want to live up to the C and would be more conscious of his actions solely because of that patch on his chest.

But when you have two lifelong Panthers, one maybe the best Panther of all time and the other a probably top 10 or 15, you're not going to see the players NOT vote the two of them captain.

God I hope Cam is a captain.  If only solely for the purpose that the media and outside fans would shut up about it.

Sorry that we have two highly respected 10+ year veterans on the offensive side of the ball that have spent their entire careers in Carolina.  That's not Cam's fault.

I wish they would make him a captain just to shut up the dumbasses around this place.

I couldn't care less which player is a captain..............nor should you.

If Keek gets a C and Cam doesn't, we'll know that team voting is not solely based upon seniority, but does carry the weight of demonstrated leadership.

Not true, as much as I love both Beason and TD, neither of them are Smitty or Gross

And while Cam is in the top half of QB's in the league and many of us think he could be top 10 very soon, Kuechly may already be the best MLB in the league

Two completely different scenarios

I see your point, but being a Captain of anything is more about leadership than individual performance.  None of us is the locker room or huddle, but from the bleachers, it doesn't seem like Cam has really demonstrated superior leadership skills, not consistently anyway.  On the other hand, by mid-season last year Kuechly had shown a TON of it, and it just kept getting better.
