Amini back at Practice

Or it's temporary (till Wharton is up to speed).

Or Jones is wrong...

Rivera seemed excited about how Amini looked in practice today and he now feels good about him playing week 1. Also said if healthy he is the starter, if not it will be by committee between Scott and Wharton.

Also got the vibe from the presser that the right side will remain Williams and Bell...either way it sounded like by Wednesday every starter will be set for week 1.

wharton must have fallen off in the skillz dept. more than we're assuming then... no way wharton is a backup if he's a better player than williams.

He's coming off an ACL. He's an older guy that didn't go to camp. He's probably not healthy enough to play every down and he probably hasn't learned the RG responsibilities. This isn't Madden, you don't just plug in the highest overall rating.

I meant to say if amini doesn't play, if amini sits out don't run LG by committee. It's just stupid

Wharton probably isn't in shape to play 4 quarters of real football. Last real game he played was back when he was a panther and he didn't participate in camp and just saw a few reps in one preseason game

Yeah that could be it, but I guess we'll find out soon. Well see the injury report and find out if amini can play

Folkerts being on the roster in response to the Byers injury along with contracts not being guaranteed after week 1 essentially confirms we'll likely make a move, just probably not this week. You just don't keep 3 C's on your roster with the rest of the OL in the state its in, especially when center is the one position on your line that is as set as it is. There's also that open PS spot remaining as well where Folkerts could possibly end up.

Lol at Rivera if he's content to stick to his guys with the line in the shape it's in. If amini is back then it's time to start getting Wharton acclimated to either spot on the right side of the line. (not that amini's play this preseason gives me any resounding confidence in him)
