Panthers vs Seahawks Tailgate...

Sorry I'm late to the thread....I've been spending Labor Day laboring in the yard.

I'm happy to have The Growler be the host for the Huddle Tailgate Party.  What we do is not exactly the same as what you all have done for the past few years, but we do offer some cool amenities and change can be good (Hurney).  Here are some points to help clarify and I'm happy to answer any questions you may have.

  • We start the party three hours before the game (typically 10am since most of our games are 1p on Sunday).
  • For Sunday games we cannot serve beer until 12p, so we do a BYOB from 10a-12p.  This is why we have to limit the BYOB ticket to 6 beers
  • The tailgate runs until halftime (approx. 2:30pm).  The VIP area stays open until about an hour after the game (approx. 5p)
  • I've rented the entire lot so there are no cars on the lot, but we have parking spaces right across the street we can use.  They were charging $20 for those spaces for the preseason games, so hopefully they won't jack them up for the regular season
  • We will have a good local band at each party.
  • We will either have a food truck or two or Mac's Speed Shop cooking at each party.

So again, it's different from the past, but hopefully you'll come out and give it a shot and enjoy yourselves.

glad to see roaringriot apart of this..

so will there be a shuttle from the tailgate to cans: recycled?

I haven't decided on the shuttle yet.  I was planning on doing it starting in the regular season, but with the number of people we've had for the first two games it doesn't seem like we may need it.  CANS:RECYCLED is .9 miles from the Growler lot and .7 from the stadium.  I haven't had any complaints, really, about the distance.  I'm probably going to hold off for this game and make the call for the future games afterwards.

Bleys - you can hitch a ride over with me if you want.   :)

Am I reading their site correctly....that I have to pay $10 to bring my own beer, and that is limited to a 6 pack?

yeah we have to cut the BYOB off at 12p since we start serving beers then.  If you bring a cooler there will be drink tickets available at noon for purchase.  $4/ticket or $10 for 3.  Those are for 16oz beers.

If you're going to drink more than that.....you can have a few of my beers  ;)

I am more concerned about the starting at 10am thing....what am I to do for the first 3-4 hours of my Sunday morning tailgate ritual? Lol

still getting familiar with the area but I was assuming it would be much further away..  I'm about that far from the stadium off of 4th and plan on walking anyway.  appreciate all cab rides though hah

Ha...I'm with you.  I've always been used to starting at 7am myself.  You could always come out earlier and watch me struggle to set the tailgate up.  I'm sure there will be plenty of laughs to be had at my expense.

Opening the gates at 10am doesn't mean you can't start boozin' before 10am!

Well --- its official...... The Huddle tailgates of old (ones I would fly in from Alaska to be apart of) are officially over.... Im doing all away games this season, but if we host a playoff game I will give it a shot, but damn, it just doesn't seem right....

To help recoup the costs of all the expenses - parking lot, band, etc...  If we didn't charge a little for people to come out then we wouldn't be able to pay for the party.  And it's only $5 if you bring MillerCoors products.

I'd like to believe that all of you who attended had something to do with it being such a good time.  That part isn't any different.

What away games are you going to?  I'll be in Miami, ATL, and SF.
