Only thing i would have prefered was signing him before the 4th preseason game but w.e this will do just fine also like the seattle was his division rival the last 2 seasons that is a huge plus if norman can have a breakout year our defense could possibly reach top 5 if our front 7 plays to its potential going to try not to get my hopes up for this season just yet but man we have a chance to be pretty good this has to be the year of no more excuses!!! #keeppounding

Ouch.

Don't suppose you have a breakdown of snaps vs. targets?

It's not that ouch when you compare overall defense of Rams vs. Panthers. Particularly the front 7. If they play even close to how they did in the Ravens game, Quintin will be free to create absolute havok.

He wasn't picked up because...

He's a vet and wanted to skip camp.

He's 33.

He already had a deal on the table from the Panthers so why not wait to see if another team will give you more money. Seasons a week away. Time to take the best deal.

He wanted more money than teams were willing to pay.

He's 33.

It seems likely, the way things went down, that he made a verbal, gentleman's agreement (Gettleman's agreement?) to sign with us after TC.

mikell made a name for himself as an aggressive, in-the-box safety who was able to navigate linemen with keuchly-like vision and make stops for losses or no gain. take away the need to navigate linemen breaking into the secondary and suddenly he's going to be an amazing weapon for stopping the run.

four hours later i am still giddy about this signing.

The Rams had no pass rush to speak of. The fact that he was a top 5 safety in that situation speaks a lot.

I could've sworn I read somewhere that the Rams had the best pass rush in the league...or the most sacks...or the most sacks from D-line, something along those lines. They actually have a pretty damn good d-line. Brockers, Long, and Quinn are all great pass rushers.

You're right. They were #2 in sacks behind Denver.
