Serious question, if he's so good why was he cut by the Rams?

 

$ 6 million salary plus $1 million from his signing bonus proration plus $2 million option bonus all added up to a $9 million cap hit. Cutting him hits their cap for the option bonus plus this years and next year's signing bonus proration for a total hit of $4 million on their cap. BUT, they also designated him a June 1st cut which splits the hit into 2 years. When all was said and done, the Rams turned his release into $7 million in cap space this year.

 

 

EDIT, I just went back and looked and it appears I left out another option bonus. That adds another $2 million to account for but they still gained a lot of room.

i picked up panthers d and keek in one of my leagues, which raised some eyebrows while it raised something else for me. ultimate sleeper unit haha

Same here man. I feel like there will be numerous games this season that resembles the pre-season game against the Ravens.

 

 

If that were a regular season game i have no idea how many points this Defense would have scored but it would have been ALOT. Instead of wasting a valuable pick to get the 49ers defense or whatever, use that pick on RB/WR depth and pick up our D with your last pick. So much value there..

 

I've already drafted for the league my family does for free, but I have a draft this evening that is $70 to get in. 14 teams. You better believe I stock up on RB/WR as much as possible because the amount of teams are gunna snag talent up fast. Draft our D late. Oh, and a QB late too. They are all the same once you are past top 3.

godfrey may benefit from being around this guy too. when's the last time he played next to someone with any actual talent? chris harris?

I'm excited about Godfrey and you made a really good point.

 

Godfrey is going to be in situations that he has never had in his career. First, He is playing behind a really good front 7, with the best MLB in the game in the middle. He is also moving to the FS position, where he did very well towards the end of last year, acting more of a ball hawk. It allows him to play at his strengths, where before he was a little out of his element at SS (edit).

 

Lastly, he now has Mikell next to him. He has everything he would need to have a great season including great defensive minded coaches highlighting the way. I expect Big things from Godfey this season. Holy Poo man I love Defense
