This, truly. Armanti has been a laughing stock on this forum for 3 years now, until his "monster game" where he caught 2 passes for 35 yards in the preseason.

 

Fua was in the exact same boat. Yet where people call Fua a "fat piece of poo" who is the worst thing to ever happen to our d-line, Armanti gets "He's a Panther so you should get behind him." Some kind of The Golden Calf of Bristol-like force field from people not caring for him.

We have no indication that Fua has anything short of an awesome work ethic. If he didn't, Rivera would have cut him with Mcclain.

 

But there comes a point where work ethic is not enough. Fua reached it, and I feel Armanti should have reached it too.

No, actually is much more simple, we didn't want to have to pay an injury settlement so we put him onto IR. It's the last year of his contract and he'll be allowed to walk after spending all season on the couch.

 

He didn't get claimed by anyone because he's not that good and prone to injury.

I don't recall any "meltdowns" as of late.  I call it as I see it.  And usually, I say things in a humorous manner during gameday threads because since 2009, I've learned it's not that serious.

 

But, now that you mention it...  I seem to recall you having a meltdown very recently in a thread and that didn't even involve gameday activities, LOL.

Funny thing, I've never heard his teammates trash him. They've actually offered much praise.

Even Steve Smith has praised Armanti. I didn't hear him say anything about David Gettis. Strange.

 

Has his teammates ever been asked about his production over the last 3 years??

 

Maybe that's why they're not stating facts about his time here.

I think there is a section of this community that really doesn't want Armanti to succeed and I think it is for two primary reasons.

1- the Armanti apologists that defend him.no matter what he does or more appropriately what he hasn't done to this point.

2- the price we paid to draft him

I think some (not all) of the posters are using Gettis as a vehicle and shield to express that animosity.

haven't heard much but we sure have heard about armanti haven't we? and don't gloss over the fact that he is a converted wr or that he has a stain because of where he was drafted which wasn't his fault.  there are huge differences between armanti and fua.

Not bank rupt us but if it's cheaper it's cheaper and it a means to the same end. Paying his remaining tiny bit of contract is lower than paying an injury settlement. Either way, he's gone. 

 

If he had any value, some other team would have claimed him. He's not going to be a Panther next year, unless you honestly believe they are going to RESIGN him after spending yet another fuging year on IR. Who's the one lacking common sense?

No, his teammates aren't going to drag him through the mud like fans mad because their favorite player was cut.

I don't care if he's a converted player, I care about who can help the Panthers win, not really into backstories.

 

I edited this into the post you quoted: If Fua didn't have a good work ethic, he would have been cut with Mcclain. He tried hard, but ultimately wasn't good enough to perform on an NFL level. I feel that point has come for Armanti, as well. In a league where the average career is 4 years, he now enters his 4th year of no success. I think even if he does manage to pull it together this year, his ceiling is incredibly low and he'll never muster a season to compare with a Keary Colbert or David Gettis.
