I mentioned him personally to compare the two as well, not necessarily because I thought Gettis should've made it over him, because by all accounts Armanti looked the part throughout camp.  I felt if Armanti made it, then we should've had room for Gettis - that doesn't mean at the expense of Armanti.

I did bring him up early and often, and in doing so said they should both be cut. I'm not a Gettis fan, Ginn fills the same role 10 times better. But just like a hypothetical thread announcing that Cole has been cut and Fua has been kept, people are going to obviously make comparisons to people who have performed or not performed.

 

Armanti is the Fua of the WR corps.

He praised Armanti last year, too, and he still contributed nothing.

That's your opinion. He was fourth string. Besides, I distinctly remember AE contributing a few big plays.

No it's just against the red that I do that. And frankly he does think he knows it all. And anyone that says their opinion is right and everybody else is wrong is clearly a know it all. And nobody likes that guy

He was going to miss a substantial amount of games to where he wouldn't be able to contribute for us this year. No other team claimed him becauase of this reason and we feel he is vaulable enough to keep him and put him on IR.

cool but i will point out that on gameday threads that people like you are the ones after one bad play have an absolute meltdown. screaming for everybody to be fired. so excuse the rest of us if we aren't overly emotional about david gettis being cut/ir'ed

This, truly. Armanti has been a laughing stock on this forum for 3 years now, until his "monster game" where he caught 2 passes for 35 yards in the preseason.

 

Fua was in the exact same boat. Yet where people call Fua a "fat piece of poo" who is the worst thing to ever happen to our d-line, Armanti gets "He's a Panther so you should get behind him." Some kind of The Golden Calf of Bristol-like force field from people not caring for him.

No, actually is much more simple, we didn't want to have to pay an injury settlement so we put him onto IR. It's the last year of his contract and he'll be allowed to walk after spending all season on the couch.

 

He didn't get claimed by anyone because he's not that good and prone to injury.
