Goodbye David Gettis

There is no glee in this. What some of you are not looking at is that at the end of the day, we are a less talented and lot shallower at the position of wide receiver with Gettis being cut.  The disappointment is not solely about Gettis, but the fact that we kept an older injury prone journeyman, and a project that the coach has said was a preseason superstar (finally after a couple of years), but has done nothing in the regular season since he's been a pro, but be a teacher's pet.

Sorry guys, when I look at our WR depth now, without Gettis it looks like a whole bunch of smoke and mirrors.

If our WR group was hinging on Gettis we were in bad shape regardless.

Don't want to be that guy, but this is kinda what I mean when I say that we as fans and those in the media put way too much stock in preseason games performances.

The majority of evals will happen in practice.

Doesn't mean those games are not important for evaluations, just that we think it is way more important than they actually are.

Hope we can keep him around and give it one more go next season but I think a team might scoop him up

My understanding also.

Which leads me to believe that maybe his hammy issue is Bigger than we all think. Maybe he did tweak it pre game, but it's possible that he may have torn it in practice the day before... I'm waiting on the presser for an explanation on this one

I'm not sure what receivers have been cut but maybe G-man has his eye on someone or another TE option that doesn't have an injury that can help us do what we all want to do, you know, win.

Gotta believe in the guy, he's done nothing but Great things since getting here. We're not done yet either. There's a couple of guys who made it but will likely be replaced come next Sunday when the season kicks off

That's what I'm saying. Why get all butt hurt about which guy got cut that never saw the field when we should be scouring the waiver wire looking for guys that can come in and contribute.

Yeah, you're right. I was just pulling for the guy... But you're right and I'm over it. Thanks
