What Seahawks fans are saying...

Should be a good game and an early test for both of our teams.  I have no illusions about your D; your front 7 can bring it.  I really wanted Kuechly last draft but have been pleasantly surprised by Wagner.  Both have proved to be terrific picks.  Can't wait for Sunday.  Good luck, good game, and NO injuries!

nice to meet you, welcome man

Can you tell me a little about your Offense other than the pieces that would be obvious to us? We're gonna probably know your major threats but who has been climbing in preseason or who should we be scared of most that we dont know about?

Thanks for the sensible post.  By the way, nice nickname. How's Ellie May doing these days?  She still crawlin' with critters?

I'm pretty sure you already know that we're a run first team, so expect a lot of run plays to be called to establish the play action. Lynch is consistent, Christine (pronounced Christin) Michael, seattle's second round pick has looked good, and is many of the media pundit's suprise fantasy pick, etc.

Although our WR core doesn't garner much stats individually, I think it's a very good group. We run often, and spread the ball around a lot, so individually, the recivers are going to put up eye popping stats. We ranked #2 in PPG on offense last season and #1 at about every major statistcal category on defense including PPG in which we held oppentents to about 15 PPG. We got a solid group of WR's that's pretty underated around the nation just because they don't put up the stats imo. Zach Millers at our tight end is very good, our #2 TE in rookie Luke Wilson has been vastly improving from every preseason game. He's looked good as much as a rookie can, and he'll be very important since the Hawks like to run a lot of 2 TE sets.

My biggest concern is our oline vs. your dline. Aside from our Okung and Unger, the line is kind of thin. I feel like we're going to have a tough time keeping Wilson up, but if we do, I think this game is goona go very favorably to the Seahawks. Our OG's are slightly above average at best, and RT is good, but they're only good at run blocking and exibit bad pass blocking ability. This is kind of what Tom Cable has built for his project oline men, extremly good run blocking but mediocore pass blocking. Okung & Unger are the only two solid lineman all around and has garnered the accolades of probowl, and unger as an all pro last season.

I would say there are similarities between our two teams then and thats kind of what I thought. Our O line also has questions at the moment and is thin past the first set of guys out there. RT and RG are our weakest points but there's tweaking going on and we have a starting G that may or may not play. We also spread the ball around a lot, run some 2 TE sets. We even seem to be making a move this year to commit to pounding the ball with our backs a little more.

You already know Smith and may know of Olsen as our second biggest target but our other receivers are also very underrated. Our receivers 2-5 can all play. They have very different qualities in speed, size and agility, but any one of them can produce if they get in. None of them our "special teamers" guys unless you want to put Ginn in that category. He's done well with the targets he's gotten in preseason though so he will see some snaps. If we go 4 wide expect that any one of them can make a play. The question here will be how long can they all stay healthy in the season. There isnt a queston of who the Panthers #2 is. He's a big possession guy with very good hands who occasionally loses focus on easy catches.

Something thats probably not talked about a lot is that pretty much every guy on our O can catch. I think only the backup FB has trouble but otherwise pretty much everyone has the ability to catch upfield. I dont know how much we'll see that with our new OC. We'll have to see if our line can move your D line and make some holes for our backs, but what we fear most is if Shula can call a good game and not be predictable. We have the threats but were not sold on our O line or our OC yet.

Our D is more of a "we'll see" thing like our coaches. Huddlers all expect a lot from this D and we have a good reason to, but we know that we have to wait to show you. We have rookies and new guys and guys coming back from injury plus the recent signing of a solid vet safety just two days ago. I dont think Wilson is going to want to be tip toeing anywhere on Sunday. He's a fearless dude and a good QB but there's a lot of speed and big hitters on all 3 levels of our D. I dont see Lynch as having the same production on us this year for the same reason. Our D doesnt read and react, they were designed to dictate.

I don't too much care what the Seatalk fans are saying. Yes, they are a tall order to start the season, but if we play up to our capability and execute, we can bring them down down a peg or two.  We need to match that swagger that we know that the Seahawks will bring to our house and show them some old school Southern hospitality by smacking them square in the mouth for disrespectfully sauntering into our house with a cockiness that borders on the epitome of insolence.  It's not like we don't have the swag master himself playing at QB, a WR with the heart of a lion, and a proven and capable RB that can take it to the house at any time, as well as a human bowling ball to roll over even the toughest defenses down in the trenches. And, let's not forget a few other vets with chips on their shoulders and/or axes to grind---one that can actually peel the layers of smirk off CBs with sheer speed as he blazes by. Oh, and did I forget one of the nastiest front sevens that has potential befitting of legends, and the stoutest---most professional---linebackers in the league with the perfect blend of sheer talent and pride?  The front of our defense can cover over a suspected multitude of sins in our defensive backfield, alone, just by playing to its ability---a defensive backfield that is eager to prove to the world that it's flow of veteran shrewdness and youthful exuberance can and will act in concert with those in the front to complete the beautiful chaos by taking away not only the spirit, but the ball like vultures literally from Seahawk talons.

After it's all said and done, Vegas will tow their lines, the talking heads will take an instant to shut their mouths in disbelief before near seamlessly changing their tunes, and Seatalk fans will learn to not count their little Seahawk eggs before they're hatched.

Mick Mixon could not have said it better.
