NFL Cut Tracker

Also, we don't have to compare him to only our starters. Is he better than our depth for a reasonable price?

This is 100% accurate. I don't expect us to find any future NFL stars off the waiver wire, but, can we find someone who makes our 53 better? Right now, our offensive line depth is horrendous. We're one injury away from the whole thing collapsing. Someone like Max Starks (Or any other offensive lineman) could make sure that a) we have depth on that line b) provide some time in there if Amini misses any significant time and c) provides special teams play.

Chargers cut WR Luke Tasker (Steve Tasker's son).

Jags cut our old friend Charly Martin.  He might latch on somewhere as a special teamer.

Jacksonville also let go of Pat McQuistan, a tackle who's bounced around some (previously with the Dolphins, Cowboys and Saints),

He certainly qualifies in one category...

...but is probably on the downside of his career (which was never all that "up" to begin with.

Another Jacksonville cut whose name you'll recognize, corner Marcus Trufant, formerly of the Seahawks.

Before you get too excited, remember the Jags are coached by Gus Bradley, Trufant's former Seahawk DC.

If his own former DC thinks he's not worth keeping anymore, I'm not sure he has much to offer us

Interesting quotes from Ravens coach John Harbaugh (via Aaron Wilson)...

'We're heavy at certain positions, we've got players and we're not going to just let a good player walk out the door here."

'We've got a bunch of guys, I would like to think that some of the calls that we make would yield some fruit in next 24 hrs."

'We'd love for someone who has a strength in an area where we need something, you'd like to think we could do some business."
