If I am reading this right, if we cut or trade Jstew next season it will be 19 million in dead money on the cap...so there is really no debating him being on the roster unless he restructures again.  2016 is the soonest we could move him.  We would break even if we cut Williams in 2015, but would be best to wait until 2016 as well.  So guess we should try to upgrade that OL, because our running backs are going nowhere.

I hate to break it to you guys but lets look at how Gettleman has addressed the RB situation so far.

1. Extended Deangelo. While it lowered the cap hit for this year it makes cutting him next year retarded as the price to do so just got inflated by a good bit from the extension and added Bonus money as part of the restructure. If we were going to cut him next year then no point in touching his contract this year.

2. Picked up the 4th year option on Tolbert at 3.425 Million.

and finally Stewarts contract is soo fuging messy it may be the worst Hurney has ever done. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/carolina-panthers/jonathan-stewart/  ...Just check out the link you'll see why he's going to be here next year and probably in 2015 as well.

But dem contracts....

Yeah I haven't went through this thread to see if anyone has pointed it out yet... but both will be here next year on dead money vs savings alone. Seems like people would rather br opinionated than to look at the circumstances of their contracts. Kurb's right, dem contracts say it all.

Let's cut both RB's next year for a grand total $28.5M dead money hit. Gettlemagic baby!!!

Right... we're cutting both RB's next year for a grand total $28.5M dead money hit. Gettlemagic baby!!!

They are gonna have to eat money at some point. Just the way it will be. We have done it before and will do it again.

They will part with at least one after this year

We could June 1st cut DWill and save maybe 1.5 million over 2 years and create 4.5 in dead cap those 2 seasons. (approximate numbers)

We could cut Stewart in....poo....2015 really is the earliest. It would have to be a June 1 cut, would save us 3 million in 2015.  Good news tho! His 3million dollar cap hit is sitting on the fuging bench so he won't hit any performance escalators!

You do realize there's already 16.5M dead money (as of right now, more can be added after the 53) for 2014 right? So you're telling me, with ~25M cap space for next year (at best) you're going to wipe that all away to throw us ~15M over the cap again next year without: resigning any FA's, paying your 2014 draft picks, accounting for a Kraken extension, and only having about 40 of your 53 on contract for 2014.

It's not opinionated, it's just math

It's hard to gauge a running backs effectiveness when:

a: he gets 10 carries or less a game

b: he plays behind a mediocre o-line

c: his oc if fugging retarded

d: his hc doesn't recognize a-c and benches him

Like a few here have already stated ill wait until the season plays out to make any further statements towards d-will. Most of the people ready to cut him loose are the same ones that said d-will is injury prone and stew is barely injured and can be a workhorse back. Lol

This is mainly towards the dwill is useless statement. If Tolbert and barner can be a good tandem I would love for them to take over once they get better than our current starters.
