take away that game against the saints, who were the WORST defensive team in the history of the league and you are left with 3.47 ypa.

 

if you want to cut out the first 10 games as well because of the refocus on the run game as opposed to the first half misuse of the RBs he is still running at only 3.55 ypa.

If you go around the league and start omitting rushing numbers from players when they are playing bad rush defending teams then suddenly everyone's numbers aren't very good.

Stats being padded against poor run teams is not something isolated to Deangelo Williams.

One of the things good running backs do is take advantage of poor rush defending teams.

1 game bumped his ypc a yard....you don't find that if you take away single game away from a player.....not a player with around 175 carries or more.

Again, the Saints skewed his numbers in a way you just don't see. Only reason I mention it. It was such a huge skew you don't find it elsewhere

If you guys want to do this you have to set up a control for every other RBs RPA against other bad rush defensive teams or if your argument is that NOs defense was so bad that isn't possible then you have to set NO as the control and view William's performance against the Saints against other RBs performance against the Saints.

Simply ommitting William's yardage against NO isn't a fair assessment.
