Stevan Ridley looked pretty good last year for the Pats.

As far as the RB anywhere goes...its more you don't have to spend very high picks to get a good/great one.

McCoy, Foster, Charles, Rice, Morris, Forte, Ridley, Gore, Murray, MJD....could keep going but would have to look...and that's already 10 starters out of 32 that's not a 1st and in some cases 2nd round picks.

Hell we could have gotten Rice or Forte over Stewart in that same draft.

He'll we could have Gotten Tom Brady in 2000.

So I should just assume that we can gut all of our RBs. Go into a passing game and win the SB like GB right?

Can next week come any closer?

who is saying anything like that?

anyway, the premise is that tolbert and barner together could carry the load and really not do any worse than we've seen from williams and stewart the past couple years.

it's not just because of chud avoiding the run game that they haven't produced that much. they get hurt a lot and they just aren't as good as they were a few years ago, esp. dwill.

I'm fine with Deangelo. Dude took a big pay cut to stay and is committed to this team.  he's rarely injured, works hard, is loved by the team, doesnt fumble and has a unique skillset.  Stewart can't stay healthy and his skillset provides little to us at this point.  Tolbert can run, catch and block similarly to stewart, he just isn't as explosive.

If we are looking for cap space I think we should take a good look at Beason.  If Beason doesn't have an incredible year, dude has got to go and he'll clear up as much room as moving both Williams and Stewart.

I love having two good RB's on the team.

I hate that we used first rounders on them, and then paid them like starting DE's.

Cut them as soon as it's possibput , and let the cap slap us and get it over with.

To be fair, when they were drafted we were running Foxy's system which needed great depth at RB. I think the extension of Stewart was meant as a precursor to moving or cutting D-will but now with Stewart's ankles that put a dent in that plan.

Now I think something will happen this next offseason. What happens I think depends on this season and how it shakes out and how the team and D-will perform.

But I do believe that one if not both will be gone after this season.

I like how you try to ignore that Davis was the only "one" RB outside of a 2nd rounder (FA) that was ever reliable to this franchise. Unless you want to include Goings.

i like how you try to ignore that putting so much of a premium on RBs hasn't really resulted in many winning seasons.
