Stewart's flirted with the injury bug for years. He's perpetually been too hurt to practice but still managed to be healthy enough to play.

We've been lucky in that regard, but you had to expect that streak was going to end at some point.

Well RB is our deepest postition, if we were to get an injury Id prefer it there. Still sucks, but it doesnt matter who is running right now with our o-line issuses. Hopefully the line gells and stew comes back with a vengance for the second half of the season

I think this might be a blessing in disguise. When Dwill was the featured back the last half of the season, our run game started to get a rhythm going compared to the earlier part of the season where double trouble would get around 8 carries each which hurt the rhythm. As a rb, the more carries you get, the better you read the defense, find holes, read your blocks etc.I think Poole should be our #2 back ahead of Barner, I have no doubt he can fill in fine for Stewart while he is out. I don't trust Barner enough until he proves to me he can do everything that is asked of him as a RB, not just running the ball.

I'm actually ok with this. WHY SOJA WHY?

 

a.) This will give D-Will a chance to be the primary back. See the Saints game last year as to what he can still do when given the keys. 

 

b.) Delhomme has said D-Will is a rhythm back, he needs a lot of carries to get going. 

 

c.)This is likely the last year of D-Will. I certainly want to get the most of that contract.

I really doubt its his last year. Even if he was a June 1st cut we'd only save 1.7 mil. I'd rather keep him.

After going to see a foot specialist today, #Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (ankle) will start the season on PUP list, I'm told. Out 6 games.
