I'll get flamed for this, but at what point do we start labeling Stewart a bust? He's a phenomenally talented first round RB that has one 1K+ yard season and can't stay healthy that we threw a ridiculous amount of money at.

Difficult to call.  Last season was the first year he was a true "starter" and also happened to be the season he missed the most time.

I don't think "bust" works for him.  He has been victim of some extenuating circumstances but he certainly isnt a bust. Overpaid, yes; bust, no.

Should have never paid DWill or Stew.

Both are good players, both are good teammates, but both are running backs, and overpaid.

In the same breath, I don't think that drafting RB's in the first is needed either, but that's another discussion entirely.

this is what happens when you take the homer glasses off. everybody here loves jstew as a person and his ridiculous stiff arms and insane plays. but we threw that much money at him for an injury prone rb who has only one 1k yard season. unfugingbelievable.

stew is one of the better blocking running backs in the NFL, which is part of what makes him so valuable. he's also a very good receiving threat, and in cam's rookie campaign we saw a ton of dump-offs to stew for gainers. i think this is part of why he got the nod to start last season.

the sad fact is he and deangelo are all but done here. tolbert/barner are likely the future of the team and gettleman will be looking to dump them both as soon as possible. tolbert's penchant for catching passes and the fact that he runs a lot like stew basically makes stew completely expendable at this point.
