Why all the hate toward Rivera??? He's had some game management issues sure. Still he's a players coach & the players love him u can tell. He did inherit a shitty team with no offseason & its not like he has the option to just go sign players. Defense top 10 last year. Offense will see I'll have more faith when we get 2 new tackles next year.

RR said himself we would look for a few offensive linemen to pickup after the steelers game. I think what happened was Rivera said we are done signing offensive linemen until final cuts,  then and dumbass Joe Person took that the wrong way.

It's gonna be ok. Lots of teams have bad olineman. This site, the radio, and tv will have you believe we have the worst lineman in the league. We don't. There are plenty of bad lineman to go around and teams like the Steelers, Packers, and Bears have been able to win with bad lineman. In fact we did most of our winning last season with the bad linemans' backups.

This whole conspiracy theory that Gettleman  is holding back is just stupid.  Gettleman knows that he is tied to Rivera and he is only as good as the team performs. He has no idea who will available as far as head coaches go and wouldn't  be planning for next year when this year has not even begun.  He is simply doing  his job which is try and build the team the best way  he knows how.  He is doing a good job so far.  Not fixing the o-line is not about giving up, settling or planning for next year.  It is about doing everything he can and not being able to do it all in one year.  He is doing everything with 2013 in mind not 2014. He was able to fix the defense because Star was available after a number of top offensive guards were already gone.  Short was too good to not draft. The next pick was an offensive guard.  As for free agency we didn't have a chance to pickup any good players being so over the cap. He has done the best he could at this point.  He is all in.

 

My guess is we will upgrade positions as players come available if the cost is within reason. I do not believe in any conspiracy. I expect to see some more additions within the week. His job first is to win this year while fixing the cap. Fans are just use to the way Hurney did things

Interesting comment.....Jeff Saturday was just saying that it was much easier for an OL in the read option. Its all about scheme and I do not see that we have the skill set at OL,QB, FB, and RB to be an effective offense with what Shula has shown .Shula's offense is like putting a square peg in a round hole.I am more worried about him than I am the OL.

Its all about scheme and I do not see that we have the skill set at OL,QB, FB, and RB to be an effective offense with what Shula has shown .Shula's offense is like putting a square peg in a round hole.I am more worried about him than I am the OL.

I get that but my question is why we would we not want to open the playbook to evaluate talent in the scheme we are going to run in the regular season just a little bit? Why do we want to run something that is obviously not going to work?

It is a conspiracy theory and you don't have a shred of proof. That is what you do. if you say it over and over again you hope people will accept it as the truth when it is only your skewed version of the truth. No one is saying he is sabotaging or that you are saying that either.

As for countering most of what you say, if you stop saying things like this, I would agree with you more often. Do I think because Rivera was almost fired that it limits what Gettleman will do to support him. Of course I don't think that, that is plain ridiculous. Anyone who ponders human nature for half a second would know what Gettleman thinks and is attempting to do. Gettleman gets to be the guy who comes in and is the hero. He fixes things financially, he saves the coach and the team and turns things around. He wants to be the guy who makes things right and saves the day. He has nothing to lose. If Rivera fails he still is around and gets his guy. If he makes us a winner, he is the hero and Rivera and everyone else are grateful. So he is going to do everything he can to ensure we are successful and he is surely all in. From everything I have heard from Gettleman that is who he is. A grinder who works tirelessly to help the organization any way he can. He has not been a GM before so he doesn't know any way else to be.

Think about it. This is his chance to be the boss and do it his way. Who waits for 25 years to be the boss and then tries halfheartedly to do his job. No one. It is obvious that you have never been the boss of a bunch of people who are counting on you for their livelihood or you would understand that he is going to do everything to make the team as good as he can and then some.

Okay, so you think a lameduck, hot seat, or a coach with a totally secure job has zero impact on how a GM operates....I think all that impacts a

GM and is proven based on the actions of GMs all over the league including our franchise. We disagree. It's cool.

RR is the 180 version of John Fox as far as talking to the press. Fox said nothing. I believe Rivera says too much. He needs to dial it back a little.

so you are saying that you don't think our QB and RB's would be successful in a traditional NFL Offense?
