Rivera says we are done signing linemen.

Wait please everyone stop freaking out. Until we see exactly what was said in context we really have no way of knowing what RR meant. Certain sports reporters (not naming anyone) have had a way of taking quotes out of context in order stir up interest from fans.

Or maybe....just maybe...that Gettlemen and Rivera know a little more about putting together a roster and running an NFL team that the bunch of Monday Morning QB's on this site (myself included).

I would not trust most of you making personnel decisions for the Panthers any more than I would have most of you complete and file my tax returns.  And I would expect most of you to feel the same way about everyone else on here (myself included).

People say that before every losing season. They may know more about it, but the results are probably the same.

I was just about to say the exact same thing. Also, would RR sabotage his own job/career by not pushing for the signing of an available player who would help fix the OL?

I think RR knows by now ....DG is playing his cards a certain way.

All he is getting is bandaids on offense. Gotta work with what he has. Bare bones to compete. Then DG will act once he knows who the coach will be...

DII G drafted wasnt about helping this year and Barner was a pick with the future of DT after this year in mind

Well, in a way if Rivera pushes too hard for new players in his third year he is saying he hasn't done well in developing what we have. Might be an awkward thing to do.

Outside of his draft picks....Rivera is playing with a roster built by a HC and GM who were both deemed subpar by this organization.

3 years in now..,,and his QB has been given no help outside band aids and castoffs. Olsen being the lone exception and the Bears were giving him away. We still are on a very unique path....given we have Cam.

It is very diffiicult to attack what you say when you include yourself in the criticism.  So, I concur.

Seriously, OL is very hard to evaluate, especially from the TV angles we see.  As a former OL coach, I can say that the endzone camera angle is the only way.  So, when I see people posting comments about OL as if they are experts, I snicker ever so gently.

Any good GM is looking to upgrade every day.  If an opportunity presents itself, Gettlemen will make the team better.  Bell and Williams are not going to create dead money or hurt the cap if replaced.  I can bet we have scouts looking at other teams' OL film right now.
