^^This.  At least 1 side of the line can be decent.   Everyone here acts like Silatolu was waiting on a pro bowl invitation.  He was really bad the first part of last year and became just regular bad the last part.  This preseason he was back to really bad and only the really bad play of Williams covered it up.

 

People bash Garry Williams like it's going out of style but give Amini a pass.  It's frustrating tbh.  Both guard positions were bad, if Wharton can solidify one side with Gross (who only has maybe 2 years left) then it's all the better.   At least Cam will see the pressure coming from the right.

So we've got a second round guard injured and not guaranteed a starting spot, and a recent fourth round guard that can barely get onto the practice field. Those investments in our OL sure are paying dividends eh.

Wonder if Chris Scott gets a look at RG, has looked more steady than Garry honestly

 

Scott has looked good at RG. Garry has had about as much success as Scott so either one is fine. Garry at RT would be interesting to see. 

 

I've been watching the end of last season on rewind and have been tracking all of the PS games so far. I can't see how anyone could say LG with Amini has been "fine" all of my notes are filled with bad marks on him and Bell.

I think Amini will benefit playing at RG. Not by having to learn another spot or playing beside Bell, but I think his skills are set better there especially in run blocking.

I wonder if it means that---it could.  Here are my 2 thoughts--

 

Wharton is depth on the left side.  Williiams showed us what happens when he tries to play it; Cam nearly got hurt.  Wharton will start only because they expect Silatolu to be out.  When Silatolu returns, Wharton is LT and LG depth.

 

Silatolu is not working out at LG and/ or  Maybe his talents would be better served on the right side. (What you said).

 

NOTE:  When Rivera said that we would not be signing more free agents, he may not have been referring to cuts.  Just a thought.

For a team that needs a fast start, this isn't what you want to hear.This crap should have been settled at the start of training camp, not two weeks before the season. Just what i want to see,a bunch of fat guys swatting at thin air and flopping around on the ground while Cam is running around in circles trying to buy a second.
