Also, the right side of their Oline is almost as bad as ours, problem is, they don't have two elite pass rushers coming our way.All we have to do is take away Michael Bennett (Jordan Gross) at that point and they will not have any pass rush coming our way. Though them being able to take away our best option in the passing game with one corner is kind of worrisome, however, they are not great covering the #2 Wr, should be an interesting game for sure.

Hey guys,

Another Seahawk fan here.

I don't see this as an easy game for us, for a few reasons that have already been mentioned, but I'll reiterate.

1. Travel

2. Climate

3. Playing Away

4. Rusty Offense

5. High Expectations

Those factors alone level the playing field imo.

Here is what I can tell you about the Seahawks. The OL and the entire defense are nasty. In our 2005 Superbowl run we were a finesse team. Now, we are a team that mauls the other opponent. Expect to see some boneheaded penalties on our side from the usual suspects like RT Giacomini and RG JR Sweezy. Both are good for about one to two penalties per game.

As far as our defense goes, we are thin at DE at the moment. That said, expect some bone jarring hits from our SS Kam Chancellor, smothering CB play from Browner and Sherman (Browner is one tough dude, and I could see him and Smith getting into it), exceptional play from Bobby Wagner (not quite Kuechly, but for a 2nd round pick, we feel we got a steal), and excellent coverage by our FS Earl Thomas (probably our best defensive player).

On the offensive side of things, Wilson does not run that much. There seems to be a misconception that Seattle runs the read option all the time, but that isn't the case. Wilson almost exclusively runs on pass plays that break down. Outside of the Bills game last season, there were very few times Wilson just took off with the ball on a direct snap. You already know about Lynch, but our rookie RB Christine Michael can be just as physical and more explosive. Golden Tate is a play maker, so watch out for him in space. Our TE Zach Miller doesn't get much praise, but he really started to light it up at the end of last season. Miller is an excellent blocking TE, which unfortunately, affects him in the passing game.

Outside of that, Wilson is the real deal. I'd venture to say that right now, I can't think of one Seahawk QB who has ever had this much hype surrounding him. I don't know if we will see a sophomore slump from Wilson, it's possible, but with Wilson's work ethic, I don't see it happening.

X's and O's, I think Seattle will shutdown Steve Smith with press coverage from either Sherman or Browner with Earl Thomas helping over the top. This should allow us to stack the box and stop your run game. That would leave it on Cam Newton to make plays.

On offense, I hope PC is not as hard headed as he was last year when we played Miami. Similar conditions, Miami had a great DL, and PC forced the issue of running the football even though we were having little success. I'd like to see Seattle come out and sling the ball around on your secondary.

I have you guys penciled in as a Wild Card team, so good luck the rest of the way!

tl;dnr - Seattle has a nasty OL and defense. We will shutdown Steve Smith, stack the box to stop the run, and make Cam Newton beat us with his arm and his legs.

It's impossible to know that a QB is the real deal after only one season...

This year, opponents will know Wilson better than he knows himself - we'll see if he can survive that.

I also think Seattle could be fixing for a crash this year (on top of the poor road record, injuries and suspensions already mentioned), with all the hype they received this  year.

In the NFL, things can change so quickly. And I think Seattle could be one of those teams.

Panthers  cannot go into this game giving this team too much respect.

With all that said!   Seattle 40   Carolina 15!   Seattle is a deep and talented team.

Feels good to have football season back! There are a ton of bandwagon fans on our team this year, I don't worry about that... I am always under the impression that ANY game is a tough game in the NFL, and we don't perform historically well during 10 AM road games... I think it will be a close game and a great one to start the season! Football season can't come fast enough!! :)
