Panthers sign Wharton

At least quote the right person.

Just checked....I quoted the right post.

TheRed said it was amazing how so many people are happy to see him back after we cut him....showed how bad our OL has been.

My point was that he was not let go due to performance and most knowledgeable fans were upset to see him released. He was let go due to cost, not play.

This is a smart move.

I have a feeling that when Travelle canceled his visit to Denver after he worked out for us, Gettlemen told him that he would sign him after 3rd preseason game under a condition that he stayed in shape.  He probably has been working out with a Panthers trainer the whole time, knowing that he would be signed right before the season started!

When Otah would get hurt, Fox would bounce Gross to RT (which is his natural position) and slide Wharton to LT.

Wharton - Amini - Kalil - Bell - Gross

I dunno, it could work. I'm not happy with Bell at RG, but it's better than Williams.

Agree. This is not the final move. I fully expect another OL to be brought in. I'm still not denying a Mikell addition.

The longer Mikell is out there the cheaper he can be had for. I wouldn't put it outside the realm of possibility for us to sign him, but all it takes is one team to have an injury and he will get scooped up quick for one year.

We cut him because he was due to get about $7m per season under his old deal, not because he sucked. Now...he is costing much less.

At least know what you are talking about.

Yes, cut by Hurney. The same guy that invested $90 million in running backs, yet went bargain shopping for OL.

That philosophy worked our real well for us, didn't it?

Being a dick to someone you quoted first is not necessary either btw.
