Yes Mikell. PFT made a good comment on how this way, Wharton didn't have to go through training camp. Maybe, this way too Mikell wouldn't had needed to go to TC. Though, it would've benefit him.

I get that they were waiting to see if there was a miracle cut this weekend they could sign, but it certainly would have been nice if they signed him 2 weeks ago so they had more than preseason week 4 to evaluate and see where he fits.

 

Vet who is very familiar with the scheme and his Line mates. Shouldn't be that hard of a transition.

I hate to be a "kill joy" but Wharton left Carolina in disgrace. He couldnt stay healthy. He missed the last 3 seasons of his career on the sidelines.

I hope he comes back strong b/c we need it, but I'm far from thinking he will do much on the field

Didn't like the idea of letting him go in the first place except for money wise.

Question now comes down to is can he keep healthy through the season with that leg of his. Is he in good enough of game shape to start right away or will he play as a back up roll for the first a few games of the season before he earns the starting spot. While he got sign to come in and help the oline out. Doesn't make him an automatic starter. His role for a while will probably be as a back up and come in on certain downs and stuff like that. We have to wait to see if he will make the final cuts. Guys have been know to be signed and let go a week or two later. I really hope Wharton comes in and makes a big impact and help this oline. But there are just to many questions still out there that needs to be answer at this point in time about him.
