He suffered a nasty ACL tear in Week 13 last season. If he's recovered from that injury, he wouldn't be a bad option to look at.

 

At least to add some depth. He was a quality starter in the league for years and he's from NC.

Wharton was one of best lineman.

There is no doubt he makes a better guard than tackle, but he's an instant starter or the right side.

No, I vividly remember our O-Line performing adequately during 2011. Wharton wasn't crap.

Wharton wanted a multi-year contract. He obviously didn't succeed. It was more of a draw but I remain steadfast in my belief that Wharton agreed to a lesser sum. We'll find out soon however.

Wharton was a weak link in the line and was cut because of his pay vs his production. He was a below average guard for us his last year here

Wonder what position he will play.  My guess is RG or RT.  If RT then Bell would move inside, yes?

he just needs to to move... maybe inside is best since he seems to stand there as the blows by him on the outside.

He's an above average tackle, and a damn good guard.

Do you have any evidence of him being a weak link? Most people here are saying he is an above average guard.
