Overlooked we had arguably the best or top 2 lead blocker in Hoov and a good run blocking OL.....

Pretty sure inserting Tolbert or Barner into a game is a more realistic fix than hoping an OL falls out of the sky this year

Any other GM or HC trying to win would be smart enough to start looking around for OL help.

Rivera isn't a GM....he doesn't get to add who he wants. He barely kept his job.

He can however elect to stop running Williams so much.

Many have mentioned Hoover in the past. The thing is there's no need for a traditional blocking FB when we're playing this stupid read option poo where Cam is tying to feel the RBs hands for 3sec.

I don't read the whole tread but I kind of agree where you coming from. But it also wouldent hurt if we ran the ball to the outside more on tosses and stretches. Running up the middle isn't there. I don't recall if we ran any draws up the middle I would have assume that would work with Williams because like you said he waits for holes and with the draw that gives a little more time for holes to open. But nevertheless the o line has some work to do or some upgradeing

In any event, if you want Cam to get killed let Barner start.  I could block back there better than he did last night.  Guy has to learn how to block in the NFL before he even sniffs starting. 

 

And Deangelo rules.  I'd rather have him over any of our RB behind whomever is on the OL.

On a winning team, the GM works with the HC. Unless both Gman and Rivera are too blind and can't see that we need to "FIX" the OL, not play Barner bc he's better running behind this OL then I dnno.

Anyway ima end it here. That was a terrible idea from Zod and like I said an "idea". I'm damn confident that Rivera isn't that stupid to go along with that plan. And we won't be seeing it this season.

Hear me out. Our oline is so bad we should rest cam this year and start Jimmy. What happened the last time we started Jimmy? We got Cam. This year we get Clowney. Trade hardy and 2014 dare I say it. Super Bowl

 

Humoring this insanity....why do we need Clowney? You want to tank a season to get a player we have no need for? If there was an OL or receiver of his caliber I would at least see the logic behind it a tiny little bit.

I also don't think people realize that Barner was out there for a reason.  It's preseason.

The O-line had a lot of subs and guys moving positions.  It's preseason.

 

I don't know if guys got nicked up or what but half the time I was like, "Who is that playing guard?"  Our O-line does need a lot of help but I also think that it was as bad as it was because we were looking at different guys to see if they had anything. 

 

Now, Gettleman knows they don't and he can go get some new beef.

Read option or not....NFL teams don't use FBs pave the way anymore.

and the read option only runs slow with Williams....the RB who wants his run to go off the tackle rather than in between
