This is why ill never go to Mexico

Know exactly where you are. I used to do the Tecate-Ensenada bike ride every year. 75 miles on a road bike (we're talking bicycles) thru the northern Mexico desert...

I'm retired now and just need to find something to stay busy with...  gas money...

The wife manages large, private country clubs and I'd like for her to get into one of the large resort courses...

I've been watching a new show on FX called "The Bridge" about stuff happening on the border, don't watch that if you are planning on going over there lol.  It does mainly deal with Juarez though.

Juarez is a bad place man. I lived there for 3 months. Its a beautiful city but dangerous as hell. That place you should not go to. I would not go back there without a good reason to do so. Cartels there are in control. The police are bought or work for the cartels. I will not sugar coat that part of my country. The only reason I will ever go back to Juarez is to either A, get my visa or B. Visit some really good friends. But mainly A.

There are other places that do not suffer from that cancer in Mexico that you can visit and not worry about a thing. The Mayan Riviera is relatively safe. Cabo San Lucas is too.

Focus is mostly around the Border in Northeast Mexico. TJ is another place that is kind of dangerous to visit or be around at night. It really depends on where you go or where you are planning to go.

Its just like the USA, some want to visit LA, but ain´t no one stupid enough to want to go to East LA and to some of the neighborhoods in there. Why would you? You would only ask to be shot or something for wearing the wrong colors.

@ Anybody home, I know where that is! Tecate is an awesome place, so is Rosarito. I was really close to buying some property there. Too bad I make Pesos now and not Dollars. I live in San Luis R.C. by the way, Small city. No relative dangers here other than you common street gangs that think own the place, young kids acting the fool But that is anywhere you go. Luckily the only danger here is the Sun. Gets up to 120 in the summer.

go read the article and those that were attached, an in one of those a 18 member band was shot and dropped down a well because a cartel didn't like a nightclub they performed at. Yeah the NC stuff is far worse(sarcasm)

You know, its pretty clear we aren't on the same page here. I quoted JLD's post for a reason.... that's the post to which I was replying when I gave a partial list of beheadings in NC.

That's why I asked how do we know if anyone was caught.

I wasn't replying to any articles. Why? Because I didn't read any.

Now that we've gotten that straight... Mexico's murder rate is very skewed in large part because of Juarez (over 110). But there is an entire country outside of the northern border. Mexico City's murder rate is lower than Charlotte's most years.

If you want to miss out, go for it.

    • Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
