This is why ill never go to Mexico

this won't end until someone comes in to make it end...and by someone, I mean the good ole US military.  Far too much corruption and money involved to make it go away otherwise.

I'm sure there's lots of Americans/Canadians in high high authority getting a big ole slice of the action too

My neighbor's son lives in Mexico City and she goes to see him a couple of times a year. She claims she never feels in danger and the crime isn't as bad in the city as people think. You don't walk alone at night in rough neighborhoods and such but with common sense you are fine.

I think this type of gruesome murder stuff is more common closer to the US. Juarez e.g. is the murder capital of the world.

They also have a beach villa or something on the west coast where crime is nonexistent.

But I'm not going either.

Most of Mexico is pretty safe, the issue is closer to the border. On the other hand, in past years there has been a rise in kidnaping for ransom in Mexico and throughout areas on Central and South America. My last trip to Mexico City I went with my cousin to meet a friend of his from Penn State. Before we left the country, we had to take a hostage class. Our friend over there, her dad is an executive with Phillip Morris, so we spent the whole time traveling with bodyguards and 3-4 car convoys of bulletproof suburbans. The city has some areas that are very beautiful and look just like Spain although the green beetle taxis everywhere are pretty ugly. Further, as for safety, all the beach resort towns like Cozumel, Playa del Carmen and Cabo are all very safe.

I was trying to verify what I said about resort town being safe and stumbled across this link, a lot of good info for anyone going and scary at same time.

Here are some excerpts:

-I think me and my girl were roofied at the Grand Oasis on a recent trip to Cancun

-He had severe injuries and we were told they could not do life saving surgery without credit card payment. Eventually they did surgery then demanded 50000 dollars before they would medically release him for air evac

-Drinks are spiked and that is not even news, but If you want first hand testimony I have that too. Females and males ending in rape.......

- If you get sick in Mexico... BEWARE of what they prescribe for you u. We thought we were safe because we were at a high end resort with medical staff on site. Not so

Here is link, all these stories are from past few months this year!

Please... the cartels know where the money is coming from and the last thing they want to see happen is the US to make Mexico persona non grata for American tourists.

I travel to Mexico a few times a year and have a great time. We hike, explore ruins, find remote cenotas for swimming, use the local taxis if need be... unless you act like the Ugly American you'll be fine.

At 6'6" you don't think I stand out in a crowd of Mexicans? I don't care, I speak a little of the language and enjoy their company.

    • What the hell?  How is presenting Cam's stats hating him?  The point is not to hate Cam, it is to show you how similar Jones is to him and why you take a look at him.  I mentioned Jones has the skill set to take a look--the response is, "look at his 5 years of performance."  So I compare him to the greatest QB in franchise history, and the stats are similar--while Jones was in a worse situation.  Now that is "hating?"  Come on.  This is a meritless, ignorant, personal attack because you are wrong.  Just stop it.  You all attack the poster when you have nothing.  So saying "we should consider a guy with similar stats and size to Cam Newton" is now hating Cam and making me a Jones super fan- that is just stupid.
    • LOL wut? His career stats. 24-44-1 With 9 wins his highest ever.  With Barkley 64% 14000 yards passing going over 3000 just 1 fuging time 70 tds 47 ints to go along with 50 fumbles.  50 fuging fumbles In short he has 1 season over 5 wins.  1.
    • So a starting QB with 5+ years of experience and whose stats are very similar (if you do math) with Cam Newton's stats (who had much better defenses and offensive lines) here becomes available, and Bryce is your QB and you do NOT kick the tires on Jones.  You simply call him a "broken toy" and do nothing.  That sounds like a very passive approach.  Remember, you labeled him, not the stats he accumulated on some pretty bad teams since 2019.  I am telling you what a smart GM would do, and even if Jones is broken and can't be fixed, you make that determination after giving the matter due diligence.  You and Completely are simply forcing your opinions about his play into logic, and the stats do not support them.  Put him in a better situation and he will do better, but in a bad situation, with some terrible offensive lines, WRs, and bad defenses,  he was on track to have stats that parallel Cam Newton--like it or not--numbers don't lie, nor does his size, arm strength, speed, and intelligence.  Broken? I am saying he is an interesting prospect and should not be overlooked by bias, misinformation, and context.
