Damn.. My girlfriend's father passed away from colon cancer not too long ago, this stuff ain't a joke and I wish him the best! So sorry he has to go through this. I'll donate probably later this week only because I lost my debit card so I'm waiting on the bank to send me a new one. Good luck with everything!

My mom died May 31st of this year, she died from colon cancer.

my family has not been the same since and will never be, she was the center of our lives. Watching your mom die from colon cancer is like being punched in the heart every day.

I hope they found it quick enough for your brother, my prayers will be with you.

We just lost my wife's mother this past week-end to brain cancer. She fought bone cancer for almost 4 years before it finally won. It is a horrible disease.

My prayers are with all of those dealing with this disease.

last week i lost a good family friend to cancer. she fought hard for a few years. her funeral was last thursday. it's hard not to get sucked in to the fight when it's someone you care about.

 

i've got this other friend who just turned 21 not too long ago who had to have his leg amputated just below the knee. i've known this kid since he was...well, since he was born. really good kid who comes from an awesome family.

 

this is something that wears on many of us at one point and if you haven't been effected by some someone close to you yet, it probably won't be long.

 

my prayers are with those who fight it or fight alongside someone with it.

Thank you all for sharing your experiences and the kind words you have given me.  As we are on the cusp of the NFL season, we know there are a lot of things that make life worth living.  We never really can grasp what cancer is until it affects someone close to you and you can put a face to it.  That realization just happened to our family last week.  I am sorry that some of you have had to experience that. 

 

Rusty is in great spirits now, he is just ready to get the treatment underway and battle it out.  His kids going without a dad is his main concern, so he is every bit motivated to kick cancers ass.  I have received numerous emails with words of encouragement and I really appreciate that.   I have also taken a few request (Luke Kuechly seems to be the most popular player on this site), so if you have any players you'd like to see me create them by all means let me know...

Best of luck to your friends brother man. I would get one if I was back in the states. I just want to say that we are fans of a very classy organization. I am currently deployed to Afghanistan, and don't get a lot of chances to watch and or huddle as much as I used to but I wrote the panthers and they sent me a package with a nike shirt, a picture of Cam, landyards, cups and a military coin. It made a soldiers shitty day.
