Jake is back in town

Jake's cool but lol @ the call for a statue. Retire his jersey, yes.

Exactly. I love Jake, but I think we should chill w. the statue. I hope he gets some type of role with the team though. Not trying to knock Jake's accomplishments, but if it wasn't for a strong defense and a guy named Stephen Davis, I'm not even sure we'll be in the playoffs in 2003. We won so many close games that year. In 2005, Smitty basically caught anything and everything around him. When the Seahawks stopped Smitty in the NFCCG, we were raped. May be I still haven't forgiven him for the Arizona game I don't know :-)

I am all for retiring his Jersey though.

I believe that was more of a function of the team having to throw more often because of injuries at RB.

So he had Smith out and his top running backs down and still had his best season. Is that your angle on why he only looked good because of Smith?

My point was the statistics were skewed because the team was forced to throw at a higher rate. Think Andrew Luck last season, yes he beat the rookie record but to do so he had to throw many more passes. By that same token with the Rbs hurt, we had no choice but to be pass heavy, so better stats for Jake, but a 7-9 record.
