Why doesn't Tolbert get every goal line carry?

Tolbert likely is aided b/c the best goaline player in the NFL is Cam.....so the fact he doesn't get it every time helps him when he does.

Insert DA and hand it off to Tolbert and his success likely goes down

And the fact that he's a human bowling ball. I don't know if I've ever seen him moved back when he hits his first man.

not doubt he is a good short yardage RB....putting him w/ Cam is deadly.  Double Trouble almost has no business inside the 10

True. Barner was a dangerous receiver at Oregon and we know Tolbert has great hands. Sooo many options.

2 TE and 2 RB would be a match up nightmare.

i'd like to see cam's numbers on the goal line.

i'd like to see barner in those packages as well. cam+tolbert+barner on the goalline...soooo many options.

I really hope that we get rid of some of the qb sneaks around the goal-line. Cam excels at getting the yards that he can when running and going down before risking injury from a big hit. That is something you can't do on the goal line. I'd much rather give tolbert the ball let him take those hits than risk Cam getting a concussion, getting a hand stepped on, or worse.

Honestly, for running plays it should be D-Will, Barn Burner and J-Stew outside the five with a Cam jog here or there. Inside the five, it's Cam and Tolby. That setup makes the most sense. That's not to say Tolby can't run outside the five pretty good too, but he's most effective smashing heads inside the five.

But that game where he basically started at RB last year was BEAST. He was running motherfugers over like they were practice dummys.

I know people want to decrease the amount of hits he takes but, if he we really need a score and we are down at the goal line, we better feed Newton.  He is damn near unstoppable to stop down there purely based off scheme.  It is easier to score when all 11 guys on offense are involved whether it be blocking or running rather than 10 guys, allowing the defense not to have to key in on at least one person.

We shouldn't rely on it but if we need it, we better not shy away from it.

I love Tolbert.  My only issue with him is he dances way too much sometimes, like he is a 190lb scat back.  He needs to lower his shoulder and just run forward.
