Newton to make at least a 70% completion rate , not get picked, and look like a franchise qb..

 

Veteran QBs who aren't fighting for a starting job typically try throws in preseason they wouldn't in real game situations.

 

This plus not running a full playbook doesn't really equate to great stats but NOBODY cares.

 

If these players wanted to go 9/10 with 1 td they easily could manipulate the game to do that.

you do realize Eli went 8-17 with an int last week as well.QBs struggle at times, including franchise guys. i have never seen a QB get judged on every pass like this before.

OL not being outmatched every down in run or pass.

 

If they are, it is hard to really evaluate much else on O.

keeping the other team out of the end zone on defense

creativity and adaptability in game management

 

i don't have anyone specific to point out. i want to see everyone step up and do their job. i'm looking big picture this game.

Newton looked pretty good early...

 

Penalties and the run game getting blown up kept putting us in bad downs....and when you are running vanilla junk you don't want to get in 3rd and long.

I am indifferent about how he played because it is the SECOND PRESEASON GAME. 

 

Just like I'd be indifferent if he was 9/10, but screw it, let's just go ahead and trade him for EJ Manuel or Brandon Weeden. They've been awesome this preseason so they must be better than Cam.

OL to give Cam some better protection.

Cam be more consistent (not "perfect" but just decrease the overthrows).

Secondary play a little more aggressive (I realize it's preseason but I'd at least like to see what we have at this position, it's impossible to evaluate them when the play the softest zone coverage in the league).
