yep. he's grasping at straws. he's searching for any reason whatsoever to discredit cam.

Cam was a little lazy in the last preseason game, I think we all saw that.  Plus it would help if defenses feared our running game, which has not been great the last couple years.

IMO Cam is usually sloppy with his fakes which one would think would be a corrected and sharpened by now.

However it is not worthy of an article....wish we had a RG Knee documentary about his will to win to watch and inspire all of us...

Newton has always been lazy w/ his play action handoffs.  That is a fair shot.

 

He is horrible compared to Peyton.  Lazy compared to the norm.  Peyton IMO has the best in the game.  Fake and real are indentical.

What I love about comments like Bedard's is the fact that in most, if not all, defensive systems the linebackers take their first run/pass cues from their key on the offensive line, followed by then finding the ball - this is why draws and counters (in theory) work.  Solely watching the backfield is a great way to get blocked and be terribly out of position.

 

Not saying Cam can't do better, but to try to solely blame him is not accurate at all.

One of the things I noticed about Cam in year 1 was how good his play fakes were. Perhaps he has become lazy with them, but he does have that skill in his arsenal.

A guy who never really had much of a play fake? Our own Jake D.

So has anyone heard anything about Dorsey helping fine tune some of the lazier aspects of Cam's fundamentals or is it safe to say he's pretty much just here collecting a pay check..

I think he was stating that it's the little things that separate the two and "fakes" are just one of many of those little things.
