Any Wine Connoisseurs Out There?

I am thinking of getting my boss a nice bottle of wine before heading back to the West Coast. She essentially created a position for me and provided me with a great opportunity to build my resume and follow a career I am passionate about . According to fellow co-workers, she prefers red wine over white and likes Cabernet.

So, I ask you Huddlers, what is a nice bottle you would enjoy getting as a gift? I would like to spend around $40-$50 if possible for a fine wine.

Thank you!

Why blow that on one bottle.  You could probably package about 3 different types that are highly rated.  Some great wines had for less.

Great Cheap one here..Merlot but I love it and drank all the wife's bottle down

Heck..any of these are great Merlots on that page.

But back to Cabernets...here's a few that's really good.

I would stick to California Cabernet, something like this:

It's a good year, a great wine and a name she will know and probably be impressed with. If she collects she can age it for years or open it sooner with a meat dish.

I would not be thinking about being frugal or getting 3 bottles for the price of 1. You can do that for your home collection.

Somebody suggested Bordeaux which is usually a safe bet as well. Hard to find one that isn't very drinkable.
