Last year Atlanta went 1-3 in the preseason and only managed more than 20 points in one game.

 

Somehow, someway, they still managed to go 13-3 in the regular season and only scored less than 20 points twice.

It really is, makes you wonder how many young people are posting here, almost as if they've never seen the difference between preseason vs regular preseason. Veterans do not take the preseason seriously, unless, of course, you're Steve Smith.

a) it's the preseason. It really doesn't matter. while I appreciate that you are trying to inspire us into rallying behind our team, it is the preseason and it doesn't matter. We aren't playing to win these games, we are playing to evaluate talent, see what works and what doesn't, and get out healthy.

 

 

b) We are not blowing this team up if we suck again this year. Like it or not, there is a ton of talent on this team, and if we aren't winning, it's because they aren't being utilized correctly. if the falcons can almost reach the super bowl with blaring weaknesses on defense, then their coach is doing a good job of marginalizing those weaknesses. If we suck, Rivera is gone. simple as that. we bring in someone who we think can win with our talent. nothing more nothing less.

This is a game mostly played by back-ups, wtf are you talking about?

Everyone keeps using the excuse "this is preseason", well - this is preseason for every team in the NFL. No, winning in preseason is not a must have, however playing well is. Granted, the second preseason game is more about evaluating talent, but you can evaluate the same talent while you win. We looked like crap agianst Philly. Cam didn't look good at all, eventhough he had no protection most of the plays. The plays that he did have time, he was inaccurate with his throws. Preseason games are not must wins, they are what they are...glorified practices that we like to win and show consistant improvement. I don't like seeing my starting QB overthrow open WR's. You play like you practice!

I don't recall Cam ever being spectacular in the preseason, he has always been a gamer. Kuechly hasn't looked good in the preseason either, there is no review of film of the other team, no game-planning, no scouting. Relax.
