I grow less and less fond of Mike Mitchell.

Mitchell had two penalties last season according to this site.http://www.nflpenalties.com/all-players.php

Neither of them were related to any kind of dirty play. If he got fined for something after the fact it did not hurt the team. If you go back to 2011 he had one unnecessary roughness.

Thank you CSX for doing something Growl refuses to do.

Make a statement and have facts to back it up seem to be hard for him.

So in reality Godfrey and TD have more 15 yard penalties then Mitchell. But Mitchell is the dirty player who gets a lot of 15 yard penalties.

This right here shows Growl is full of dog poo.

lol the reason Godfrey has more penalties than Mitchell is because Mitchell is a career backup who wasn't talented enough to crack the starting roster other than in rotational situations.

if you' aren't even aware of that, then not only does it reveal the caliber of intellect we're dealing with here, but it only further serves to validate your ignorance. it's become humorous that you two still so bitterly try to defend him after displaying that you haven't even watch him play, while the others here have can testify to his stupidity because they actually watch it.

trying to fabricate some argument out of a cherry picked stat for a career backup is the definition of reaching. of course we're likely to see more Red tears and anger that such a large consensus of informed posters disagree with him, but that's become expected at this stage after your little childlike tantrum earlier in the thread

While we're in the field cherrypicking statistics, it should also be mentioned that courtesy of his low number of snaps last season, that was the lowest penalty count Mitchell has had in his career, including a whopping 5 penalty season in 2010 in spite of not actually being a starter.

And, just for fun, I'll throw this in here since Mitchell's atrocious pass defense skills have been brought up in this thread:

Still, according to Pro Football Focus, among the 78 safeties who played in 25 percent of their team’s snaps in 2012, Mitchell ranked fifth in run-stop percentage when in the box (10.7 percent) and 20th in overall tackling efficiency (three missed tackles). He was the best pass rusher among NFL safeties with nine total pressures (one sack, six hits and two hurries) in 27 pass-rushing snaps. In fact, only four safeties had more total pressures than Mitchell, even though they played between three times and four times as many snaps.

Mitchel’s struggles came in the passing game, where he ranked a third-to-last in passer rating allowed (130.2).

So we have a safety (of all positions) who can't cover, but boy gee golly, at least he'll be a strong 4th LB in the box in a defense that won't be asking him to do that pretty much ever.

2010:

Offensive Holding (3), Illegal Block Above the Waist (1), Defensive Holding (1)

Such dirty plays. Keep trying Growl.

lol this does nothing but validate everything I've been saying. only a loon believes that idiot play is limited exclusively to late hits.

grabby penalties such as those illustrate one of two things.

He's either too agressive, as his reputation suggests, or, he commits the following penalties because he doesn't have the natural ability to match up fairly.

so please tell me. which one is it?

Is the perception about him correct, or does he suck?

It's hilarious witnessing you trip over yourself as you ramble on about this "career backup" as you call him, desperately attempting to prove yourself right. Your whole thread was about how much of a dirty player you say he is.

Now he just sucks? Make up your mind.

It's even more comical watching you tune out and resort back to kiddy antics every time somebody puts the heat on you.

this thread in it's entirety is about mike mitchell, and by extension, his performance, up to and including, should we award leniency to a dirty player this year if he doesn't perform as Mitchell has. those of us who have read it can see that. once again, i simply asked a question which you ran away from.

So, I'll repeat them both and see if you are man enough to finally answer.

1. Who in this thread, other than yourself, is making assessments about Mitchell's career on the premise of one preseason game?

2. Is Mitchell overly aggressive, or does his lack of natural talent force him to resort having to use cheap moves to even the odds result in what he's proven to be?

Me calling him a career backup can wedge your little panties as far up your crack as you please, that's the label given to players who aren't good enough to start and i can't envision anyone wanting to change it just so TheRed can sleep a little better because his boytoy can't cover a high school TE much less an NFL caliber wideout without trying to utilize some cheap advantage.

So. Go ahead. Answer the questions. I'll be waiting.

Yes what are the rest of us thinking not jumping to conclusions about his future here after two preseason games.

If you think I'm going over all that with you again after you tucked your tail and ran off the last time, you are more far gone than I thought. Thanks for the cute insults again though, you're very entertaining when you are angry.
