Well, its true... What do you have to say now!!!

:D

I think we are a roller coaster ride of a lifetime. I cant wait to see what he does this season...

I hope we aren't set up for a roller coaster ride of a lifetime... Roller coasters are full of ups and downs... and I would prefer to have all of the "ups" but none of the "downs" that accompany the roller coaster.

I would much prefer a sky rocket ride of a life time!

But other than that, I agree 100%.

I guess I could have stated that better huh....

Either way I think Williams is going to keep us contenders for a long time!

AK I made a thread after the 2005 season PROVING Nick Goings was a better RB than Foster, and endorsed the newly-drafted Deangelo Williams as the starter. You came in spouting off your usual nonsensical hoopla, this time about how Foster hadn't really been given a chance to show what he can do yet. (lol apparently 4 years of mediocrity wasn't long enough.)

I don't understand how it was hoopla considring the time it was said. 2002 he was injured. 2003 he played great sharing time with Davis. 2004 he was injured.

2005 was the only time during that period where you can make that argument. And it's not like it was with the best of o-lines. Williams was in his first year and couldnt be trusted blocking.

Everybody on here has underrated/overrated more then a couple players and been wrong. Espeically foster

considering the very short history....

and the even shorter list of true RB talent...

That was going to be my point. Being our best running ever back isn't exactly that tough or that big of an honor. Considering he is knocking on the door of leading in yards after 2 part time seasons and one full time one. it just points out how few good running backs we have had in our history. Pretty ironic given that folks constantly call us a running team.

Yep, the bar is not set too high, really at any skill position...

I realize this too, so it does take away from the "wow" factor.

However, being a team thats going on 20 years old, and for him to break about every record in his short time is good to see.

I hope he sticks around for a long time.

He has HOF potential if he keeps it up!

he's definitely the measuring stick at this point...but then again the argument can be made that stewart is too.

    • Corbett knows he needs to take a prove it deal and I think he will.  I watched an interview and he was convincingly adamant he wants to stay.  Two different injuries in two years was bad luck.  It's not like it was the same thing.  He knows the game and figures to end his career in a place where he is happy.  You can't really compare how Bryce did with Mays compared to AC.  AC was hurt week 5.  Bryce was on the bench after week 2 and didn't return until week 8. Mays is basically under team control next year as a RFA.  We could offer the right of first refusal for 3m.  I'd offer a 2 year deal which averages a little higher so you can manipulate the cap on his deal.  Additionally, I'd resign Corbett to a team friendly deal.  Many forget he has positional versatility like BC.  Corbett is only one year older, is two inches shorter, about 10 pounds heavier, and has arms that are one inch longer.  Corbett has played LT in college and guard/center in the NFL.  Ideally, bring back all three, but if BC gets big time $$$ AC and CM can battle for center and the other becomes a swing lineman. If we cut bait on Yosh Nijman we may be able to keep all three.  I'd sign up for that in a heartbeat.
    • As fans, we often exaggerate how bad our team owner is because we are so invested and focused on our team. We don't really see how bad other team owners, like Woody Johnson or Robert Kraft, because we are focused on the Panthers.
