I wonder why we haven't heard more about Cam progressing as a QB in TC? What I mean is getting better as a field general (i.e. reading defenses, pocket presence, precision) I know the team and organization are probably tired of media's addiction with making Cam look like a bum so maybe they just get tired of even bringing him up.

 

I'm glad he has improved as a leader b/c he def. needed to improve in that area, but idk.....

 

Did any of you guys have expectations like this? What do you guys think? Maybe its just too early to tell or maybe he has and he has just fallen under the radar with AE's performance and other TC buzz.

 

I never knew, realized that there was a problem with Cam as a QB and as a leader (comparatively speaking), to where it would be headlines coming out of training camp, especially after his second half of the season last year?

 

I think it would HAVE BEEN HEADLINES, if Cam didn't progress/fell off from last year, or if he wasn't any good or better. So that's why you haven't heard much. There's not much to say! And of course, the [real] season hasn't started yet. 

 

Personally; I thought his mechanics and pocket presence looked quite well, and similar to 2011, the little I seen him in the Pre-season game. He just appeared to have a revised/better throwing motion than in 2011. 

 

PS/Fyi: Rivera and the Panthers rarely (if ever) go on the offensive regarding Cam news, information. Which is one of the reasons, why the national media has been able to control the story and his perception so much; even when it's not true or pales in comparison to the other so called "good guy" young QB's. So you're not going to hear much [from them], in the form of "noise". No sir-ree

He played LT after Bell in the 4th quarter of the first game. He did not look good. Maybe he'll develop but there was a noticible drop off when Bell was taken out. Of course it was like jumping off a cliff going from Gross to Bell so take that for what it's worth.

I definitely enjoyed the article, but the fluff about Garry Williams having the potential to be a starting right guard, etc, you have to take with a grain of salt. Henson writes for the Panthers' website, so he's obviously not going to post anything that is too critical of a player.
