oh yes...the great "neglected wr" opinion.

Tell me where and when we had the opportunity to add a receiver better than steve smith.

Um, we have had plenty of opportunities over the last DECADE to of had a better #2 WR on the field than we did from 2004-2013.

Your question of flawed....in this offense Mike Wallace for example would be a better #1 WR.  Smitty would be the better overall WR who in addition could capitalize on a WR young enough to legitimately take the top off a D.

Are you honestly suggesting over the last decade.....we couldn't of done a better job and actually had legit competition w/ better players for the #1 and #2 spots?

Hixon has the advantage over those two because he's proven to produce during the regular season for years, something neither of those guys can say.

Hixon also has proven to have the injury bug in his DNA....even Gettlemen has commented about those type players.

Not sure were going to cut Adams just after one season, remember how many years we kept Edwards?

Hixon was brought in incase of Gettis.  Hixon Has produced in the past but has also had some injuries in the past as well.  Hixon hasn't done much in camp and has been hurt.  Gettis shows up and Adams doesn't just implode, Hixon gets cut imo.

6 WR's- Smith, Lafell, Edwards, Gettis, Ginn, Adams.

Don't get me started on the list of WRs that the Panthers could have drafted had they not traded for Armanti Edwards or Everette Brown.

I'm cool with that. I'm also fine if they keep Hixon and cut Adams. One thing seems for certain and that is ol' Pilares is goin' bye bye.

thank you for not answering my question, as to when we had a true opportunity to get some one better than steve smith.

I'm not going to waste my time addressing the many times the Panthers failed to get a solid compliment receiver despite their attempts.

The Panthers haven't needed to start finding a receiver better than steve smith until the last three years.

So point out to me the great opportunities that the Panthers neglected to grab a receiver better than steve smith.

Yeah but think about why they suddenly stepped up. Competition from the FA's. Also, contract year for AE and Gettis (and Pilares?). I love the legit competition and hope that Dave Gettleman brings in FAs every year to make it happen.

Bro AE had no excuse. Gettis was injured. Nevertheless if both are released which one would be likely to be signed based off of skill NOT attitude? Both seem to have great attitudes both one is obviously a natural fit at WR. Gettis> AE. If he gets the right chance potentially he may be a solid #2. He goes into the coverage and contact better than Lafell imo. Gettis is a closer to Moose but faster. Just my opinion tho.

if you have draft picks, then you have an opportunity to address any positions. the panthers just chose not to address this one, and it shows. remember you do not build a team by drafting for need, but in some situations WR was the bpa and the panthers passed on them. in the last decade we could have used better WR options, but decided not too.

plus there are numerous WR this team passed on that could have made this roster look some what decent in the past.
