Sorenson says Gettis "Perpetually" Open in Tuesday's Camp.

Hixon could be the odd man out.  His injury history is pretty bad.  We signed him to a 1-year deal so it's not a big loss, he's obviously unable to get over stuff.  Look at his history and you'll see what i mean, tons of injuries.  I don't see us letting Adams go because A) We used a draft pick on him just last year and B) Ginn is only signed on for a one year deal and could move on next year.   So I would say there is a good chance Hixon and Pilares are gone.  Gettis has too much potential I think to be let go.  Ginn looks terrible as a WR so we could go in with 7 though, we'll have to see.

Pilares reminds me of Nick Goings but at WR. He tries hard, runs straight, and isn't that talented. He doesnt have much value unless the 6 people infront of him on the depth charrt get hurt (2004). Of the WRs in competition for a roster spot, he seems to have the lowest ceiling. I say let him walk.

I agree that Hixon's injury could mean that he is gone too. I didn't seem him getting an extension past his 1 yr anyway.Gettleman's plan is to go after OL and WR in the upcoming draft after patching them this yr.

Seriously guys, who here would be really that concerned if we let pilares and joe adams walk. Also consider that drafting a top tier WR will be a priority next year.

The way the roster is looking we are in the now, what can you do for me now not later. Pilares has been here too long with no real impact, like AE, but AE is now on the rise with no honorable mentions going to pilares. Adams has fallen off the radar as well Yes we just drafted him, but teams can't keep everyone they draft for 2-3 years before the cut.

Smitty, Lafell, Ginn, Hixon, AE, and Gettis. Your 6 WR's.

I would agree with this. For various reasons, I believe these are your 6 Wide Receivers going into the first game.

And (Shriek), I could easily see the team getting rid of Armati before Adams (due to his potential, only one season vs Armati's 3), though I know it won't happen, after his great training camp and exciting the fan base.

By this logic, we shouldn't have kept TD on the roster last year, cause at that point he hadn't done anything in a while.

Yeah, when able to get on the field....Davis has proven that he may be the best LB on the field. No debate about what TD is when healthy and on a field.

Not sure how that compares to a guy who became a legend on 3 catches.....who defenses probably weren't that concerned with.

I could see us keeping 7 if Ginn keeps being Ginn. Gettis has yet to play against the ones so I'm not ready to jump on that boat yet.

True, but you must also consider that Cam is the best QB on the roster to take advantage of Gettis' speed. Hopefully we'll see something tonight.

I would not be surprised to see Adams either traded (Goodson to Raiders, for example) or put on IR.

That's a bit ridiculous. Goodson got more than one season to prove himself, or not prove himself as it ended up being of course. With all the time Armanti and even Gettis have gotten, Joe deserves one more season.

Doesn't matter who 1 and 2 are....

If your most legit competition in a decade is who your 3 or 4 WR is....that is weak. Smitty should be a 2 at this stage but we have neglected WR

oh yes...the great "neglected wr" opinion.

Tell me where and when we had the opportunity to add a receiver better than steve smith.

You people are crazy for wanting to cut Hixon. He made tons of plays and some really nice catches last year when given PT. I could see him easily par with Lafell if healthy (which he is projected to be this year correct me if im wrong)

Gettis is just to physically gifted and produced when given pt and healthy. Cant cut him.

I need to see Edwards do something in a real game more than once to anoint him.

Right now my WR depth chart would look like this.

Smith

Lafell

Hixon

Gettis

Edwards

Ginn

Adams

Pilares

We need to give Pilares the boot and keep 7. However I could live with Adams being let go as well.

hixon. The player that is new to our offense, and hasn't been practicing?

He is a vet, but I don't feel he has any advantage over edwards and gettis at this point. Not in our system.

That may change, but not before regular season begins.
