Are we the only team who doesn't scrimmage other teams?

Waste of time and risky. Use the training camp to sharpen your plays in house and use the preseason games for your "scrimmages" to evaluate talent in game situations. Four games is plenty to see what you have.

There aren't. It's actually pretty rare. Out of 32 teams, there might be two to four that do this annually.

I'm glad the Panthers don't do it. I feel like it helps keep our players healthy and being that we are the Panthers we need to take every measure keep our guys on the field. Even though our team goes hard in practice there is a subconscious instinct to let up on your teammates and honestly there is an opposite effect when you are playing another team.

The Detroit Lions came in and scrimmaged the Panthers during training camp years ago. Only time we've done it, I believe.

It is easy look at only bad reasons to do it, not the good. I wouldn't mind it, think it would raise the focus during training camp. Just my opinion though.

any good reason to do it is the sole purpose of preseason games...which are in fact organized scrimmages.

This is what happened to Brady, I have no desire to see Kerrigan or Orakpo try to do this to Cam.

the more i look, the vast majority of teams just don't do it. there's teams that used to do it, but most abandoned it.
