Are we the only team who doesn't scrimmage other teams?

I've been seeing a lot recently about teams practicing with other teams and scrimmaging. Can someone explain (besides JR being cheap) why we do not do this? New England and Tampa are doing it this week, Atlanta and Cincy did it last week. I remember years ago at Furman, we'd practice with the Falcons occasionally. Would this not be beneficial? Get an idea of what some other teams are fielding or atleast the mental preparation of going against someone else in practice.

I definitely wouldn't do Atlanta, but we have the Titans and Redskins close enough.

New England quarterback Tom Brady left practice with an apparent knee injury. It happened when Tampa Bay defensive end Adrian Clayborn was bull-rushing tackle Nate Solder, who fell into Brady’s legs.

Clayborn said he was just doing what he was supposed to do.

I've always thought it is extremely stupid to scrimmage with another team.

It sounds and even looks cool when watching Hard Knocks, and there doesn't seem to be much downside if its an AFC paired with an NFC team who won't play each other except once every 4 years outside of the Super Bowl.. but in reality when seasons are more dependent on how well teams avoid the injury bug rather than experience, the con's outweigh the pro's.

Its also another opportunity to work on offense and defense against different looks where coaches can still be on field and coach and set everything up in situations they want to work on.

I like it a lot for the O and D lines... I would do them if I was a coach, I would make it a normal scrimmage where everything is played live on exception of kickoffs, field goals and punts.

i really don't think there's many teams doing this.

Lets have electric football scrimmages where we can have Clausen on the sideline holding a clipboard and Joe Person showing up after practice ends out of breath to provide zero insight to the fans! Could film it and send it to NFLN then people would see us scrimmaging other teams on the TV so they wouldn't worry.
