Your "low point" as a Panthers fan

One moment that I don't think anyone brought up is the '09 mid-season game vs. the Jets. (I believe that was jake's last start. Never in my life have i seen 2 teams look as pathetic and sad as I did that day. That game remains as one of the only panther games i've EVER turned off mid-game and refused to watch

how snake bitten are you when a pass bounces off a receiver's back foot and is taken back for six.

all these panther fans with your new memories....people forget about the soul crushing 01 season.  the 1-15 season and the 2-14 season are by my lowest point.

01 was no where near as bad as 10.  If you will remember we were in a lot of those games in 01 and a play here or there could have made that season substantially different.  7 of those 15 losses were by less than a touchdown and 3 more were less than 10.  We were competitive in a lot of that season.

2010 was low but after awhile it became a high getting the #1 pick.  So I'm throwing that out.  The AZ playoff game was a huge dissapointment but the fact that its was one of the most fun season's I've ever experienced takes it out of the equation too.

I won't speak for anyone else, but it was the inconsistency from year to year that eventually made my heart sink after a great year like 2008...  It was just another example of the team royally fuging poo up when the chips were stacked in their favor.

which 2009 continued to prove, and 2010 was a joke..  Although I was optimistic, for some reason.

The 05' Seattle playoff loss needs to be mentioned. We obliterated the Giants and Bears and that was one of the biggest highs in Panthers history. then Seattle had four to even five guys covering Smitty, we had a core of losers behind him, and were down to starting backup FB's at the RB position.

Even though that game was a drag, we'd been battered at that point walking into Qwest field, where the Seahawks never lost. They had the best record in the conference that year, and even though we got beat pretty good, I still came away from it thinking how good the next year would be once we upgraded a few positions (and we all saw how that worked out lol)

Very different from the Arizona loss where we were tied for best record in the NFC, had a first round bye, never lost at home in that season up to that point, weren't banged up anymore than any other team in the playoffs...

i'm amazed that nobody brings up the 2006 season anymore.  the hype for the panthers was out of control that year and there was barely an outlet around that didn't at least have us in the NFC championship game.

we won free agency outright and were getting high grades on our draft.  hartwig and kemoeatu were considered big upgrades on both lines and keyshawn johnson was supposed to have been 2004 muhsin muhammad all over again but sharing the field with steve smith this time.

but no, 8-8 and deangelo rides the bench while we slam deshaun foster up the middle for 2.

I kinda disagree i think its worse to be close to winning and find a way to lose than to never have a chance at all.

2006 wasn't so much a low point as it was just a roller coaster to .500. There'd be late game heroics one week and then the next week they'd blow it comically.

But you should've been on this forum in the hours after the divisional game against Arizona. Looked like a suicide hotline for football fans that night

Ahhhh, that classic John Fox veteran loyalty.
