Your "low point" as a Panthers fan

I don't know if the playoff loss was rock bottom, but it was such a ridiculous drop from the heights the team had slowly climbed up to that it sure as hell felt like it.

I don't remember any other time my entire belief system on the panthers experienced such an instant warp from one side of the spectrum to another. Literally no one, not even the national media thought the cardinals would win that game. I went from thinking we were at least in for a deep playoff run to wondering if we should probably nuke the team, coaching staff, and all personnel executives including the entire scouting dept. and start from scratch in a span of 3 hours.

The fact that we have two "worst team in the NFL" seasons in recent memory to choose from speaks volumes about the organization.

Then i wonder how bad Raiders fans feel. How many times has that team picked in the top 5 of the draft over the past decade?

The 05' Seattle playoff loss needs to be mentioned. We obliterated the Giants and Bears and that was one of the biggest highs in Panthers history. then Seattle had four to even five guys covering Smitty, we had a core of losers behind him, and were down to starting backup FB's at the RB position.

As a broke college dude barely having enough money to eat, I spent all the money i had to get seats for the Thursday Night game against the Giants. It was a stupid move, but i convinced myself that it was our year and i wanted to be there when we as a dynasty turned the corner for the first time. Got a nice hotel and everything...

We laid a fuging egg. Played like poo. From the moment it started, i was pissed. I felt like the Panthers scamed me and i made an oath to never return until its a home playoff game.

That said ill je at the monday nighter lol. But that was definatly the breaking point for me. Assholes.

You hit the nail on the head FB. I remember I was watching it in my living room and after that first TD drive I was yelling at the top of my lungs "yeah baby that's how you play football!" Followed by a couple of Ric Flair-esque "Woooooooo"s and then it all fell apart. I also vaguely remember some Cardinals fan coming on here talking poo before the game and touting their secondary and I was like yeah right derp derp Rod Hood ain't poo and then 12 Jake INT's later I was in full on rage mode. I was like cut everybody and overthrow JR.

It was not a good look at the Montsta household that day.

pretty much the MO that frustrated fans for so many years..  always had a 2008 type success, then implosion and the 2009 trend that would always follow when the team could never live up to expectations.

I don't know how bragging that we never had less than 7 wins was ever rationalized.  8-8 or 5-11, it all leads to tremendous frustration when it happens over and over again.

In the 1-15 season of 2001 we were at least competitive in games. 2010 was laughable from top to bottom IMO.

that's what makes it difficult for me.

Being competitve but winning one game.

I've never experienced as much embarrassment, anger.

2010 was expected to not be good. And we weren't. It didn't phase me like it does others.

Just two years? The Lions, Browns, Rams, Chiefs, and Raiders have had it worse recently. Sure, we were dreadful in '01 and '10, but we pale in comparison to the long stretches of dreadful football the other teams' fans had to cope with. We've been mediocre for the most part, which isn't all that great either, but at least we're starting to pull ourselves out of the funk.

Nov 18 last year.

Loss to TB in OT was the bottom of a long slide that started with the Giants game on MNF.

I honestly didn't care if I ever watched another game after the loss to TB and had we dropped the next game to Philly and then the debacle in KC I probably would have just quit giving even the tiniest fug.
