Your "low point" as a Panthers fan

this game is why i don't buy the bullshit when people start spouting off about how fox "always had his teams ready to play".  or one of a few examples, i should say.

they had absolutely no answer for the eagles' blitz or special teams in that game.  look at 0:35 and 1:30.  no chance, especially 1:30.  the eagles are absolutely screaming blitz but jake was sent on a five step drop regardless.

i'm amazed that nobody brings up the 2006 season anymore.  the hype for the panthers was out of control that year and there was barely an outlet around that didn't at least have us in the NFC championship game.

we won free agency outright and were getting high grades on our draft.  hartwig and kemoeatu were considered big upgrades on both lines and keyshawn johnson was supposed to have been 2004 muhsin muhammad all over again but sharing the field with steve smith this time.

but no, 8-8 and deangelo rides the bench while we slam deshaun foster up the middle for 2.

that season was a humungous bitch for sure. kemo was an offseason acquisition prior to the 2008 season though iirc

wasn't this also the game where there was a punt return for a td and a bizarre int off of someones leg that also was ret for a td?

i agree on fox. several games where he was ill prepared for and then makes ZERO adjustments and the snowball just kept rolling down the hill.

the one off the leg would have been the jets game that season which was horribly fluky i will admit.

there was an impressive tip drill interception in the video linked above but it wasn't the same play. desean jackson did have a punt return for a touchdown as well.  jake was also pulled far, far too late in the game for it to matter.

2001 season. We had a 21-0 lead on the Bills and blew it. Dominated so many games and did everything possible to lose, sometimes in incredible fashion. Also reference last-second Saints and Redskins losses.

Other choices:

2003 SBXXXVIII vs Patriots. I was still so proud of the team afterward. But damn, we could've won the Super Bowl.

2008 NFCD game vs Cardinals. Thought we had a SB team.

2005 Week 16 vs Cowboys. We needed a win to clinch a playoff berth and the NFL robbed us. Said Peppers didn't block a last-second kick that he clearly blocked, gave Dallas another chance, and they made a FG. No matter. We beat Atlanta 44-11 the next week for our first win in the ATL since 1997.

2006 vs Eagles on MNF. First and goal at the fuging 1 and Keyshawn cuts his route short for a game-losing INT.

2005 NFCCG vs Seahawks. I had blind faith we'd win despite being down to Goings and Robertson at RB. At full strength, we win that game.

2010 vs Browns. Yeah, I know, but still. We should've beat the Browns. Clausen drove us 80 yards, somehow, and Kasay blew a chip shot.

2002 vs Packers. Not many may remember this, but we were 3-0 I believe and Shayne Graham shanked a last-second, 20-yard field goal to beat the Packers in Lambeau. Started an 8-game losing streak.

2009 vs the Huntersville/Toronto/Buffalo Bills. Seriously, we lost to the fuging Bills. That's always a major low to me.

fug, I hope this season goes well.
