Most RBs need some carries to get into a groove. Rotating is great for their health, but it does not help with their rhythm. If Shula runs the ball like we expect, the RBs should all thrive.

 

With Kalil back, Bell a year better, and Williams actually looking decent. We should be better running and passing. Which should help keep us on rhythm. We have done well so far, even against a good Bears D.

 

With our D, supposedly, we should be allowed to stay on rhythm. Teams won't be scoring every time they get the ball. So there should be less pressure on our O to score every time we get the ball.

 

Getting the play in quicker should allow Cam the opportunity to look the D over. Stay with the play, or audible. This should help our O as well.

 

And speaking of Cam. He is ready to take the bull by the horns and lead this O. We should expect him to look and play like we all expect him to.

 

All things considered, there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic for our O this year.

 

But the biggest reason for optimism is that this team is well coached. From top to bottom we have a staff that can put these guys in a position to make plays.

Did you forget what the Division the Panthers play in, and who are their best players (think Newton, Olson, Smith, etc.). Did you also forget, the Panthers don't won't Cam running as much, only when he has to (along with a few planned ones, to keep the D honest)?

Dwill, Barner, Tolbert, and Stewart (when ever he comes back), will get theirs. But a lot of it, will be passes out of the backfield as well.

And FYI: Cam rarely throws 30-35 times a game (even when he has accumulated big yards). If he does this year, then that would mean the Panthers had a lot of possessions (35 p vs 35 run).

No, I'm not trolling. With the personnel we have are you really going to argue that we are better suited for a pass heavy offense vs. a run heavy offense? Let me remind you that our backfield consists of 2 guys that less than 4 years ago were the first-ever duo to hit 1100 yards and have put hardly any mileage on since then, a powerful yet very versitile fullback, and now a scatback who looks to have unlimited potential. Not to mention a quarterback who led our team in rushing and holds the NFL record for rushing TDs in a season by a QB. On the other side of things we have a 34 year old receiver who is slowly showing signs of decline, a good but not a star tight end, a #2 who has produced like a #3 thus far, a career backup, a guy still learning how to even play receiver, a young receiver who has great measurables but hasn't played in over 2 years, and 3 kick returners who we hope can contribute in the passing game. Again, please tell me how this team with its personnel isn't better suited to be running a lot more than passing

Do you realize everything you just said?

 

One can argue, that a 34 year old Smitty, and Olsen, are better than a banged up Stewart and Dwill right now (especially with Cam throwing to them). 

 

I would admit, that Barner appears good, and so is Tolbert. But they're aren't many balls to go around. Secondly, Lafell, and one of the new additions, may be just as effective as well. 

 

More importantly: No matter how good he is running. Cam is a better QB when he throws first, and run when he has two. This team is not going to win much games in the NFC, trying to play Fox Ball [only] with Cam's arm neutered.  

 

Just look at the games that the Panthers have won the past few years? Cam is always an integral part. Why do you think, they want him to get back to the basics/where he was at in 2011 (as a pocket QB first)?

 

Most of the games the Panthers have lost, have been close ones. If they can just clean up a few bone head mistakes/errors (coaching and players alike), they could have a nice record this year.

How about our OL isn't built to line up and pound the rock

Our QB also has more passing yards than anyone in history 2 years in...
